168 used to be the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. We were happy to pay a little more here because it was worth it. When we went in and they told us they were under new management, everything changed. We waited for our takeout order, which usually it was always ready when you got there. The food has become just like any other cheap chinese takeout except it’s NOT cheap. We miss their hot and sour soup, it was the best and now it’s just ok. The beef with chinese vegetables now has half the vegetables. The egg rolls are greasy. Even the fortune cookies aren’t as good. Everything that used to make 168 special and exceptional is now gone and it’s just ordinary and expensive. It’s really sad to lose such a great restaurant.
Under New Management. This had been the best Chinese restaurant in the area until its recent sale. Unfortunately the new owners did not buy the recipes, only the name & fixtures. As a long time patron of the original 168, we were sorely disappointed at a recent visit. The food was banal and pedestrian and akin to that found at a Chinese buffet but without the buffet price!
