We went to AJ’s for some soul food & actually ran into the owner. She told us the story of this wonderful restaurant that she & her husband ran. Unfortunately, he passed away & the doors are closed.
This is the best southern food around. We are about 45 minutes away and visit there twice per month to get our friend chicken and vegetables fix!!
Food was average. the service was average, the building felt like I was in wrong neighborhood. Friends like the fried chicken, but not as good as the colonel’s.
Seafood at AJs is wonderful too. I usually have some kind of seafood but had the fried chicken club sandwich this time and it was awesome!
This place makes the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. It’s atmosphere is utilitarian and casual, and service is erratic, but it is all worth it. Sides are good and well-prepared. It is a definite recommend
