Fish was very good. Everything is fried to perfection. Definitely not health food but good for an occasional indulgence. Wait staff extremely courteous- big plus!

Pretty good grub, reasonable early bird specials. After spending a great day at the amazing Kelly Park Rock Springs, just down the road in Apopka is the Catfish Place.Rather modest on the outside, but warm and cozy inside, especially in the rear dinning room. Some nice old art on the walls and many recommended article reviews posted near the cash register. Building was the old turn of the century railroad depot in town, housing a collection of antiques and collectibles on the walls.I came for the early bird special and got seated right away.Ordered the fried flounder for $9.95 but was not very impressed… it tasted frozen and overcooked and I did not care for the too crispy breading. The local catfish was much much better in corn meal, hot and sweet tasting meat and on the regular menu you can get all you can eat for $13.95! Appreciated the option of having a whole sweet potato that evens comes with cinnamon butter.YUM Salad was very nicely presented with tomato, mushrooms, mixed greens with good dressing. Hush puppies were tasty too. Fantastic sweet tea kept a coming on this 100* day by the warm and attentive waiter Jerry. BTW Jerry was a fantastic waiter….be sure to say hello to him.He is a very sweet, nice and helpful guy and has been working there for a long long time.My sister, cousin and brother in law has seafood platter for $19.50, and dozen fried shrimp for $17.50…They said they loved their meals and I thought the shrimp were quite delectable.Too full for desert but overall a pleasant meal. I’d go back but only get the catfish.

Having now visited the Catfish Place at least 10 times, I think the fish & value are average. It is convent for locals, but I prefer to drive a little further (Forest City) to Fish & Chips Restaurant – much better fish, as well as a wider variety of food.

This place is absolutely one of the best country cooking seafood places I have ever been to. I have been to many being from Florida and would recommend this to anyone looking for some great seafood. The sweet tea here is absolutely awesome and the individuals waiting on you are some of the friendliest I have ever met at a place I ate at. I will be frequenting this place more often as I now live closer to it, although my arteries will plea I don’t.

Perfect!!!!!!. This place is real country Florida food! It hasn’t changed for as long as I’ve been going there! (10years) The inside is still the same.. the food is the same.. the servers are the same.. and its GREAT! Yes, it’s a lot of fried food.. but we all need to splurge every now and then! The fried green tomatoes are a MUST!!! Along with the gator and catfish! You will not be disappointed at all! Enjoy!!!!
