Wanted to try a good restaurant while on vacation and Capt. Anderson’s didn’t disappoint. Fried catfish was great, the best I have ever had. My wife had the surf and turf with popcorn shrimp. Very good. Would go again when we come back.
Capt Andersons is one of my favorite restaurants- the rice rolls are to die for (especially when you dip in the butter/sauce of the sauted crab claws or the peel & eat shrimp app). The stuffed grouper is a go to for my family. The half lobster (or whole) with stuffing has been a go to since I was little. Capt A’s also has a wonderful wine menu- great variety too. One of my favorite Chardonnays is called Sixto which was recently added to the menu from Walla Walla, Washington. Also, Uriah is a smooth Cabernet, have to try! Save room for dessert- all the pies, cakes and cheesecakes are amazing!!
I took my family and some friends to Capt. Anderson’s this evening. The food and service was outstanding BUT . . . at the end I asked them if they honored Vietnam veterans and their response was NO! We don’t honor any service veterans or firemen, policemen, first responders or any other type of service people. I told them then Ii would not be returning. The owner smugly responded; OK, have a nice night. Shame on you! Steve Haynes – [email protected]
Was disappointed in the food quality. Our group of 6 arrived on a Monday before 5pm and were seated quickly. Service was great.. but my steak and shrimp was nothing out of the ordinary. The baked potato was not hot enough to melt butter. My wife’s seafood platter was ok , her potato was cold too .for the vegetarians in my group, they had a choice of baked potatoes or steamed veggies, cold baked potatoes were apparently the daily special. I was told that the fried mozzarella sticks were good. It’s been years since I was here, seems like the food quality has gone down, but the prices have gone up dramatically.
Excellent food and even better service. Our waitress, Sunny, was great! We had grouper imperial, stuffed grouper, crab-stuffed shrimp, and broiled scallops. We all agree that it is the best seafood we have ever eaten. We were seated & served very quickly!
Great food and good service. Nice atmosphere. Restaurant owner was greeting people and assisting people getting seated. Desserts were very tasty!
I really can’t see what all the fuss was about w/ this place. It’s s huge place in a great location w/ good service. Get there early or expect to wait a bit. I was disappointed w/ the food and drinks. The place had to much of a chain restaurant feel to it and the food.
