First visit. Went with two friends from out of town, hoping to catch up. Unfortunately, this is not the place to go if you want to have a conversation. This place is really loud! Wine selection is vast, and those that I tried were actually quite good. Two of us ordered soup and we ordered an appetizer for the table. The bread, soups and appetizers all came out all at the same time, almost immediately, (before we even got our wine!) Then another round of soups arrived – not sure what happened there. (Runner and waitressdisconnect?)Entrees arrived before we finished the soups and appetizers. Between the high noise level, the rushed service, and staff running around chaotically, we really did not enjoy our meal. It was very stressful. The food was good, but nothing special. A bit overpriced. (2 of us had the Shrimp Campanelle, which was described as having a Tomato-Parmesan Cream. I should have asked what that meant, since when the dish arrived, we were surprised that it was a tomato sauce – not a cream sauce. Not even a rose sauce! Flat-out red tomato sauce!)On the positive side, the staff was very friendly. They must be doing something right, as the place was packed. I will try them again, with hopefully a better result.

Went to Cooper’s Hawk for happy hour. They have some fantastic wines and they are all $5-6. In addition they have a discounted tapas menu which was quite good. The two of us shared 3 apps and we were quite full. The portions were good sizes for sharing and featured fresh great quality items.Pictured:Asian pork belly tostadas with scallions, sesame seeds, cilantro, radish, sweet chili BBQ sauceGolden beet, burrata, and arugula bruschetta

Great experience! Beer and wine list were on point and plentiful. Aesthetically pleasing restaurant with low room noise IMO. Appetizers, meatballs and ahi tuna were good. The bread is very good too actually. I had a chimchurri steak (or something like that) and it was very good with aioli sauce. Key lime pie for dessert was good too. Probably will join wine list. I will go there again because it was such a great experience.

Very cool concept food and service was excellent. Party of two for dinner $120. We had all courses and wine so we hit triple figures. Will be back for the wine tasting they offer.

Unfortunately, I am making a not so great review on one of my new favorite restaurants due to a number of issues I had recently. It was my birthday and I had (at the time) 10 guests who were going to be joining me for dinner. I had raved about Coopers Hawk for several weeks the food is delicious, wine is amazing, great atmosphere and awesome staff! So, of course, I would want to invite those I love to try it out. I called a week in advance to see if I could make a reservation and a female staff member advised me they only do reservations before 5 or after 9. I kindly thanked her and we hung up. Despite my nervousness on taking the chance to still go there with my party of 10 (now was 12) without a reservation around 6:30pm on a Saturday night, I figured there wouldnt really be an issue besides a possible longer wait. Ive seen pretty large sized parties there before. Saturday night came and all my guests are arrived – the hostess asked several of them what name the reservation was under. The hostess also advised if I wanted to make a reservation I should have requested to speak to the manager at that time. My conversation with the hostess got more dumbed down when I advised her I was told I couldnt make a reservation and she quickly said yes they do take them but no more than 12 per party. Well, we couldnt make a reservation when I tried so we were told it would be a 2-3 hour wait. Totally typical of a restaurant on a Saturday night no big deal! So in the meantime, we all ordered drinks from the bar. I asked the very nice bartender if they do make reservations and he confirmed they do take them. Next step, can I please speak to your manager? The conversation started out pleasant and I expressed my concern that when I called a week ago to set up a reservation one of his staff members advised me they do not take reservations during that time. He then proceeds to turn the situation around on me, the customer, to stress that he did not understand how/where I got the idea that I couldnt make a reservation and tells me I could have through open table. So at this point, Ive been told 3 different answers. I proceed to ask him why his staff member didnt suggest that to me last week. He advised me that they dont even take parties over 12. But if you remember, I didnt even tell the hostess initially how many guests there would be nor did she suggest open table or that they are not capable of accommodating parties of 12+. His response there is simply, nothing I can do. So now that I have a party of 12 he still cannot accommodate. He was very much about vouching for his employer who because gave me the wrong information I was being treated poorly as a customer, who brought him 11 other customers. Interesting. So the earliest he was able to accommodate was at the original 2-hour wait time. He offers my group free wine tasting for the time being. This was a nice gesture, but he surely was not concerned about losing business from 12 people. Between the managers attitude and the hostess attitude, I, personally felt unwelcomed at this restaurant. So when we finally were seated all together it took another 30 minutes for us to all get our drinks. The food was very good as it usually is. My last disappointment was when I received my check at the end of the meal I never ordered a birthday dessert but she tried to bring me some chocolate covered strawberries. Unfortunately, I am actually allergic to chocolate. She apologized profusely and asked if I wanted key lime instead. Of course Ill take key lime! When I received my check I noticed there were 4 glasses of wine and that dessert charge on the bill. Due to their poor service, I only had 2 glasses of wine. I thought this was very distasteful to be charged for my birthday dessert since technically I did not initiate that order. And Im not one that raises hell and by that time I was pretty much over the whole situation. All in all I was highly disappointed with the service. So you see first impression counts! And one never knows whom they may know so as a new and fresh company in the Jacksonville area you definitely have some areas to improve in.

Tried this place for the first time the other night with some friends. Huge place with great ambiance. If you are a wine enthusiast, this is the place for you. We each ordered apps and shared off each other’s plates. We sampled some flatbreads, bruschetta, and dumplings. Great place to gather with friends. Service is a little slow, but worth the wait.

We moved here from Columbus Ohio two years ago where we frequently went to the Cooper’s Hawk there and were a part of the Wine Club there and when we moved here have waited anxiously for the St. John’s Town Center location to finally open! And since its opening recently we have visited several times and never disappoints! Wine tastings as fun as usual and the food as great and price on point as usual. We are not a fan of the business of town center but for this place we let it slide.
