Cold food and not very plentiful. A real disappointment .
I thought Mikado did a great job with the atmosphere. Upon first impression the building came across as very clean, and we were warmly welcomed at the door. Service was relatively swift even though it was a Friday evening. I happened to order the steak and shrimp which seemed to be definitely above par. Our chef was very entertaining. He had many tricks and jokes I saw and heard for the first time. Overall a very pleasant experience I plan on repeating.
Great place for family and friends. I recently looked up reviews for Japanese steakhouses and not only laughed at how some of the reviews were writing but decided to take a chance. Mikado has been around Jacksonville for awhile and the new location across the new Walmart at the avenues walk had great sushi ad the service plus the food was exceptional. There was a couple with our teppan table that had been going there for years and raved about the chefs cooking and style, along with the fact that the staff was very welcoming. We will be back to see their buffet and new menu items during the summer.
This was the first Japanese steakhouse I’ve ever been to. I had my cousin I town and we could not find a place to eat by the avenues. Everywhere was just jam packed with a huge wait. We came acids Mikado and we were out of options so we tied it out. The wait was only 15 minutes which was not bad. I wasn’t too thrilled that you have to share a table with about four other parties. But we were daring this night and went with it. The food is decent. Nothing ill remember the taste forever, but the atmosphere is wonderful. The chefs are stunning to watch and I was absolutely mesmerized by them. We did have a sort of obnoxious neighbor at our table. I didn’t mind her so much but the couple at the other side seeme to. As soon as they got their check they booked it. I only wish the tables were smaller so you don’t have to dine with so many strangers.
I use to like this place alot for lunch buffet, but lately there buffet has degrade. The steam tables are under health inspection tempetures and the meat is always cold. I hope the owners correct this issue. Because we can get food poisoning and I would want that.
The food and service was excellent. The portions were generous and I highly recommend mikado Japanese Steakhouse.
