Don’t Bother. I’ve only been there once and got take-out, and I always order the same thing my first time at a Chinese restaurant. Egg Drop Soup & Pork Fried Rice. The soup was ok, I’ve had better & I’ve had worse. But the pork fried rice was horrible. The rise was mushy and so salty it was inedible. If a Chinese restaurant can’t get fried rice right, I won’t give them a chance at anything else. The place looked dirty and the floor could use a really good cleaning.
Great food, horrible service. This place by far has the best chinese takeout in Jacksonville. Great food. The service however is a different story. The woman who must be the owner (she’s always there) messes up my order almost every time I eat there, and has the nerve to tell me that is what I ordered. Um, no. If that was what I ordered, then why would I be coming back to tell you that X is not what I ordered, I ordered Y. One time my husband ordered no onions but got them in his food anyway, and she swore up and down that those were NOT onions in his food (and they so totally were onions, I mean really??) And she is rude to EVERYONE, not just us. Very unpleasant to deal with, but GREAT food. If you eat there, try the chicken and broccoli. Best I have ever had.
Better than the alternatives.. All my friends rave about this place, and I know why…. big portions and good quality. Everything is made to order, there’s always a small wait but its usually worth it. The prices are right and you get a lot for your money. The Twice Cooked pork is the best I’ve ever had. Other dishes are pretty good as well but as somebody mentioned, the hot and sour soup is abysmal. Just stay away from this stuff. And BTW, the egg rolls are just fantastic. They are loaded with veggies and shrimp, and are perfectly crisped to a beautiful golden color. They are the best I’ve had in years. Prevents me from having to make my own which I was doing when China Hut across the street had such a quality dip. Thats another place to stay away from, but they wont be in business long.Quick Chinese is the best Chinese takeout in Southside, particularly in the Baymeadows area.
Very good value.. The food is OK, the portions are huge. $8 for a huge take out serving of twice fried pork that was very very good, everything else is hit or miss although the shrimp lo mein was pretty good, and the shrimp was fresh. I’ve been here a couple of times and was never wowed by anything except the pork i mentioned, the big disappointment, and the yardstick that I measure all Chinese restaurants by, is the Hot n Sour Soup. Its terrible, it tastes like dishwater. I brought home a quart, and after fishing out all the tofu, had to add 2 chicken bouillon cubes and more vinegar. There’s no egg in there either so I’ll have to whip one of those in too. BTW, the best Hot n Sour soup this side of Hong Kong is right across the street at China Hut and there’s no tofu in their recipe, but they were closed on Sunday night. Quick Chinese gives you a lot of food, if you don’t mind touching it up yourself you’re good to go.
Good god and good prices. I love the dumplings with spicy peanut sauce. It’s fast too. The only thing I would say is to check your order. I have gotten home and was missing items. They did make them for me as soon as I called though. Overall my fav take out Chinese food.
Rude!. I’ve gotten food from this place a handful of times and each time I come, it’s never a good experience! The food is alright but what really infuriates me is the woman that is always in there that clearly doesn’t want you there. I don’t even think i’ve ever seen this lady smile! She mumbles and stares at you with a blank expression the whole time you order and when you ask a question she gives you an attitude and talks to you like you’re an idiot. The only reason I even go to this place is because it’s the closest thing to my house and I’m still new to the area so I’m unsure of another chinese joint!
Next Stop. If you have a desire for Chinese food at 2 in the morning and there is NO WHERE else open then I would suggest going here. If not, chose another place for Chinese.
