Tea with Friends. It was a lovely Saturday afternoon in Largo. The Jewel Cafe is easy to find as it is very close to the intersection of Walsingham and Indian Rocks Rd. Reservations for tea are required as is a minimum of 4 guests. Once seated, I received a small ceramic tea pot filled with hot water. Then I was presented with a humidor filled with various teas. I chose the Lemon Ginger. A lovely tray filled with scones followed and soon after a three tiered tray with lovely and scrumptious tea sandwiches. We chose chicken and tuna salads, but watercress and cucumber were also available. As we sipped our teas (never ending), and admired the warm decor, porcelain and china tea pots and other homey decorations, we chat and laughed as if we were on the veranda of an old southern home. The final presentation was also a two tiered platter with lavishly displayed small pastries and fruit such as chocolate dipped strawberries. A lovely afternoon which was also reasonably priced (approx. $14 each plus tip). Service was impeccable.
Great little spot!. Jewell Cafe is tucked away amidst Antique Alley in Belleair. It is a very homey little restaurant with great breakfast!! Staff is friendly and knows all the regulars by name. The quiche is amazing…and I have not been disappointed by anything else I have tried.
