My wife and I just dined at Sabai Thai for the first time. I have to say we were pleased with our experience despite a rocky start. A monsoon rainstorm was happening outside, sending both of us into the restaurant soaking wet. My wife was already seated when I entered the small establishment. I had to use my napkin to dry off, something that the waitress didn’t seem to appreciate. She told me to go to the bathroom and use the paper towels. Anyway, on to the review. We started with the Curry Puff. We got 3 and they were served with a sweet vinegary cucumber sauce. They were hot, crunchy and excellent. For entrees, my wife got the Drunken Noodles. They were delicious. I asked the waitress what the liquor in the sauce was, but she simply said it was a spicy sauce. I highly recommend this dish.I got the Red Curry with Shrimp. I received a nice little pot of Red Curry, about 8 medium shrimp with lots of veggies (Broccoli, Bell Pepper, Yellow Squash, Carrot and a few others) and a pit of aromatic jasmine rice. I was pleased, it tasted great and I had enough to take some home.In all, a good meal. I’ll go back and try some other dishes. Hopefully the waitress warms up a bit. 🙂
I’ve been to many many many Thai restaurants all across the country and did not like this one at all. Most Thai restaurants give you some sort of salad or soup with your dinner, they do not. The food was also not up to par with many other Thai restaurants in the area. While it wasn’t bad per se, it was just about edible. I cannot fathom how this place garnered a 94% rating.
