Don’t Forget To Order Early Steak. Just had a very dissappointing experience at this restaurant during my first visit. I orderd the Gyoza appetizer from the server at the same time I place my meal order. He reconfirmed the orders from everyone at our table and I pointed out that he had overlooked my appetizer. He just shook his head and ackowledged that he had it on his list. Needless to say my appetizer never arrived when everyone elses did, and when I brought it to his attention again, he returned from the kitchen stating that the order was lost. For my meal, I had ordered the filet mignon, while everyone else ordered either shrimp or scallops at our table. At no time was I made aware that my steak would be the last thing cooked at the table after the entire meal was prepared. I had finished all the other aspects of my meal, and still had not been served the most expensive part of it until the very end. When I spoke with the manager about the poor planning of the meal service, I was basically told that this is how Kobe Steakhouse serves their meals. The chef told me that had I asked to have my steak served early it would not have been a problem. Who ever heard of such a thing? I have been to many other Japanese Steakhouse-style restaurants and have never had this type of experience before. If this is a true Kobe policy, then they need to make diners aware that if they want to eat when everyone else is eating their meals to let the chef know that they want them to cook their chicken or steak at the same time. I’ll not be returning here, nor will my friends.

I eat here all the time and hate when I hear ppl complain about the people or the service. One time half my party was late for my reservation and we ended up having to wait another 30. I was mad until I asked for the explanation. They told me they only hold reservations for 15m due to the style dining. They only have a limited # of hibachi grills so they can’t afford to hold a table up for a late reservation when they have walkins ready to go. After that, I waited for ny turn and turned my anger to my late guests lol. Some people just don’t understand.

Wow I must say. My girlfriend took me out for dinner at Kobe’s, it was great. I enjoyed the food being prepared in front of me, and the food was great!

Not a bad place, the hibachi grill gives you plenty of side dishes, the main ingredient however, be it tasty was not plentyfull. The wait staff is very attentive. I would return if in the area.

We went to this restaurant about 2 sundays ago with a party of 10. Two people had not arrived yet so the hostess told.us that as soon as they arrived they would seat us immediately. We went to the bar and had a drink while the rest of the party arrived, which was 15 minutes later. I paid the $100 tab and returned to the hostess to get our table. To my surprise she told.me that now we had to wait 45 mins to an hour. I reminded her that she had told me that we would immediately be seated. She was rude and shrugged her shoulders and said we would have to wait an hour. I asked her to speak to a manager and she said a manager was not available. I went back to the bar to ask the bartender for a manager who called one over. A manager comes over and I explain the situation to her. She rolled her eyes and walks off. She returns minutes later and told us that we would have to wait if we wanted to eat. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant and much less one I recommend to my 200 emloyees. That is just a smack in the face. I will never visit that restaurant again and I did send a memo to my employees asking them to never visit. I have also taken the initiative to tell all our social circles and acquaintances in the bay area about this experience. If any of my employees were to ever treat a customer the way I was treated I would fire them instantly, especially in today’s depressed economy. I rather recommend Ryuu japanese steakhoouse in the mall.

I dont think so….. We went in expecting a great meal, the place was packed and the hostess gave us a 45min-1hour wait time so we went to the bar(which was the best part of the meal) after about 10min they called us to be seated. They took our drink order and about 5 minutes later they took the meal order. My husband ordered the Kobe Beef which after about 5 minutes he was told they did not have(this was the entire reason we choose Kobe Japanese Steakhouse) The chef showed up, he seemed fairly young… and his cooking technique seemed inexperienced. He added tons of salt and butter to the vegetables and practically everything else. The food was bland and tasteless, my husband ordered a Dragon Roll and he said it was like chewing on tofu and rubber. When the chef was done, about 3-5 minutes passed and a waiter showed up to box up everyones food. I was the last person to get my main course and the 2nd person he boxed up… I was still eating when he took my plate. All and all, we eat japanese about 2X a month, and like trying different restaurants, this seemed like a good choice, but we will never dine here again, they give you an outlandish wait time, they rush you threw dinner and then rush you out the door. the food is bland and the service his horrible. If you want good mixed drink, we would rate the bar an 8 out of 10. the restaurant on the other hand a 4 out of 10.
