The food was very tasty, although not sufficient and the price was high, even for lunch. You would think that 10 dollars would fill your stomach. Not so here. I left hungry. Go there if you’re on a diet. I got 4 small chicken cubes and a little pile of rice. That was it.

Secret. Don’t go. Ever. Stay away. Far, far away. Why? Because it’s MINE. YOU go to Skewers and pay Mercedes beachside prices and be ignored by teenage waitresses that can’t pronounce the dishes. That way, I can always get a table at the Alexandria. You won’t even know what you’re missing.Side Note – a great review of this place takes NOTHING away from Cedars. Still love that place.Other side notes, in response to other reviews. Yes, I am a fat jerk.(1) Going to a real Mediterranean/Middle Eastern place to order (and review) a gyro sandwich is like going to the Porsche dealer to use the bathroom. There are a hundred places in town to get gyros, and theyre all more or less the same. There are maybe five places to get decent shawarma or kofta. (2) Those were Desi (green chickpeas) in the falafel. They are higher in fiber than the Kabuli (more common), and have a lower GI, and are arguably more flavorful. I’ve had falafel all over this dying planet, and this was tops. Trade your expectations for experiences.Anyway. Every dish smacks of love and care. I left with the elusive food buzz that comes only from an expertly prepared meal.I generally don’t make an issue of price, unless it’s inordinately high or unexpectedly low. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill, and tipped to make up the difference. My only fear is that this place is TOO good, because things this good, for some reason I have yet to figure out, don’t last.On second thought, maybe you should go. A lot.

WOW ! I like eating and trying Lebanese ,Greek, Egyptian, any Mediterranean cuisine really ,but I have never had shawarma and only recently heard of it, (mentioned by Iron man in avengers) so i went for it. That was more than a sound decision ’cause The beef shawarma is incredible !!! (On pita for linch ,& plate for dinner). I ordered 2 dinner entrees came w/ bowl of soup or salad each. I had tomato florentine (tasty) and mu friend had lentil soup (not a standard lentil very good !) ,appetizer of kibbeh (witch is like 3 small fist size flavor footballs packed w/ beef and a crunchy fried outsides) I always have water so no drink cost but a $31 bill before tip for 2 was a nice end to a pleasant surprise. Definitely going back to explore the menu further. My advice is give it a few tries you will find something there that’s better here than you’ve been having elsewhere 🙂
