While visiting the Kennedy Space Center, my wife and I decided to fuel up by eating breakfast at the Causeway Diner. The staff was very friendly and it seemed to attract the locals. The decor was a bit run down, so felt like a greasy spoon type of diner. Food matched that feeling. I had a garden omelette with home fries and toast. My wife had two eggs over easy with the same sides. Portions were good. Food needed a little salt. Coffee was just ok. Overall it was a good start to the day with not many other choices. I would try it again as prices were reasonable and staff was nice.
My Second Kitchen. Love eating here…. come at least once per week! Usually I get a burger platter but sometimes mix it up… blt’s are great, too. Daily specials also a good choice. My family loves coming here for breakfast on Sunday morning. They aren’t open every night for dinner like they used to be which is disappointing when we need a place to go on a busy school night. The portions are ridiculously huge… waitresses are really nice. This is a local favorite place to go plus one of the only restaurants on the northern part of Merritt Island (close to Kennedy Space Center). Did I mention, best steak on Merritt Island? Can’t say enough nice things about this place! ((The guy in the next booth over says best chocolate pie is found here… might need to take a piece home!))
