Good breakfast. Just a plain good breakfast. Home fries can be deep fried if desired. Country fried steak is top notch, eggs have always been cooked spot on, just as we have asked. The kitchen puts the food out fairly well, even when busy, but it is hard to get coffee refills at that time.We will go there often, I am sure.
Wonderful Sunday Bunch!. The food here was excellent. Have lived here all my life and never bothered to stop in, what have been missing!!! The eggs were cooked to my liking without having to over explain them to the chef. The food was hot and delicious. Service was down home friendly. Atmosphere is very family oriented. Definitely looking to make this a regular part of my Sunday mornings.
Best country fried steak…EVER! We (family of four) were traveling Christmas Eve day and needed food, and Brooksville was where we were at lunchtime. We stopped at another place in town, and could not get a straight answer on how long the wait would be, so VOOM! we left. We chanced on Maw’s, which is tricky to access if you are southbound, but WORTH THE EFFORT!Sat down, sweet teas hit the table very soon, and the menu was amazing. Country breakfast and comfort food galore. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with greens and Black Eyed peas, The Missus ordered the medium breakfast plate, my daughter the Humongus breakfast plate, and the son got something really good with awesome corn fritters. After our food arrived, the table soon got very quiet. The Breakfast Items were all very good (eggs, THICK bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, etc.), the Son’s food (whatever it was!) was most excellent, and as stated the BEST country fried steak… EVER!. The steak was battered and fried just right, none to little residual grease, and the gravy was a real hit. Greens and peas rocked, and I got a yummy biscuit to mop the plate clean. We pass through Brooksville as we go over the river and through the woods regularly, so we will try Maw’s again.
Wonderful waitress, good pancakes, cute restaurant. Will eat here again.
