Today, was our 1st visit to Papa Joes and I must say how dissatisfied my family was. First, our waitress was crude and not very customer service oriented. Most importantly, the food was below par especially for a non chain Italian restaurant. My wife ordered a chicken alfredo that was about as good as a plate made by Olive Garden which is not saying much. I ordered the special of the day- chicken parmesan which is not an easy dish to mess up but Papa Joes found a way. Spaghetti was cooked good, sauce was bland and tasted like it came from a can, the chicken itself was ok with a half way melted slice od cheese on top of soggy breading that came off chicken easily. Im not a food critic by any means but this was definitely not what i was expecting. I do not recommend anyone to eat here as you would be better off going to a chain Italian restaurant.
It was just OK…. With all the great reviews and their really fun-looking website, I expected much more of this place. Went in alone to find there was no bar or lounge where a single diner can mingle. They sat me at a table for 4 and all eyes were on me as they always are in a situation like that. The waitress was very nice and the service was quick and attentive. The food, however, was not the best. I had French onion soup and the classic spaghetti and meatballs. The soup was over-spiced with something that made me think there must be some seafood hidden in there somewhere. When the plate of spaghetti came there was enough for two of me, and I’m a big guy with a healthy appetite. I left about half of it on the plate. Very unusual for me. The meatballs were huge, but over-stuffed with some nondescript flavor that just left me wondering… The sauce was OK, but the pasta was a minute or two beyond al dente. All-in-all, I can’t give this place much more of a four or five out of ten. It will not be on my favorites list. Sorry, Papa.
I am from the new england area (rhode island) and ate here when i was visiting with a friend and was very impressed with papa joe’s . The food and service felt like being at home. AAAAA+++++
Excellent tradition. Lots of memories and lots of good pizza in a wonderful atmosphere. Service can be inconsistent but don’t let that keep you from some decent pie.
Very good Italian Food!. Have eaten here many times and are never disappointed. Good service and very nice atmosphere. Newly renovated inside and looks really nice. Especially love their Pasta Fajoli soup! Didn’t like their pizza though-have had better elsewhere. But, the pasta dishes are real good, with generous portions. They even have a deli out front and a gift shop next door. Their desserts are good also.
Papa Joe’s is the best ever! I had my 30th birthday party in there privet party room that held over 40 and the staff and food were the best! It’s the best restaurant in brooksville
