We had our grandson and his best friend visiting during spring break. Wanted to treat them to a nice meal at a restaurant on the ocean. Took them to Sea Watch on the Ocean, Ft. Lauderdale. What a mistake. The food was terrible and the service was worse. The only good thing about the evening is it will be something to laugh about in the future whenmy grandson tells the storyabout the night Gramps tohim to the worst restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.
Stopped by for a late dinner. The place has very nice ambiance lighting, dcor, rustic tables everything works well together. Menu largely focused on seafood with lots of daily catch options. I had seared scallops, which unlike the typical dish which contains 4-5 large seared scallops, had lots of small to medium size scallops and they were cooked perfectly, served with nice creamy sauce. Roasted Salmon was also very good.Wine list was somewhat small, but well constructed, with many wines offered at very reasonable prices. 2013 Shafer Merlot was listed at $98, which is only about a double retail (and it was delicious). Service was friendly and prompt. Recommended. talk-a-vino.com
Terrible service food ok. Waiter couldn’t be any less helpful. Seemed we were a bother. Food ok. $110 with no drinks or desert for 2 people. No leftovers and neither of us were stuffed. Waiter was falling all over himself for the couple seated next to us. Next anniversary we will go elsewhere.
Very quick and friendly service. The calamari was not overcooked. The oysters were not shucked properly. The Caesar salad was good. The French onion soup was exceptional. The boulebaise was excellent and the bread was very fresh and very tasty. Two glasses of wine and no desert the meal was $99. I say it was good value for the money. Only complaint is the hard bench seats we were given with the reservation. If booking, ask for a table with all chairs and not near a drafty window on the beach side.
Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children. Although the food was delicious, everything was ala carte. After you order the entree, starch and vegetable, you have quite an expensive meal. If you also order appetizers, desserts and drinks, you better take out a loan. What I couldn’t understand is if you are a seafood restaurant, why isn’t there one or two seafood dishes on the children’s menu??? A nice flounder and/or shrimp meal for kids would have been great. We had to order adult meals for both of them because they couldn’t agree on the same seafood entree to share. Safe to say we will not be dining at Sea Watch again.
Good food. Poor service.. Food was great! Service was very slow and it was a very cramped atmosphere.
Good Food. It’s a little more expensive but a very nice place on the inside. The deck is a little more cramped but a great view. Our food was good and I plan to go back.
