Pleasantly Surprised!. We had thought of trying Misto out many times, but somehow never did til last night. We made a reservation for Sat. night, but it was unnecessary. We were sat back in the bar, and asked to be moved forward into the main restaurant- which they did. Shortly after we ordered our wine (the house Cab is on the sweet side- could be better), the waiter spilled a whole tray of wine on the patrons in the table next to us- which just missed us. Things went smoothly after that excitement. The bread and tapenade is different and nice, the background music playing was to our delight Andre Bocelli and Sarah Brightman- both whom we had seen in concert. We tried one of the nightly specials, which we split along with a salad. The salad of mixed greens had a nice balsamic dressing. The main course was great-Red Snapper Rockefeller- topped with spinach, a small amount of crab, and bearnaise sauce. This was accompanied by au gratin potatoes, a mixture of vegs.- cauliflower, broccoli, carrots- all al dente. The garnish was a flower. Even splitting the meal- it was too much for us. Service was good through out, and the owner and chef obviously care about their patrons, as they both stopped at our table to ask how everything was. We were very glad we stopped by, and will definitely be back

Very Nice Restaurant!. I went here with my family for a pleasant Christmas Eve dinner. The restaurant was packed. The service was excellent. The servers were working together and still made everything worked perfectly. Our server had a big table with 14 people, but still kept up brilliantly with our table. In addition to the excellent service, the food was also great. The rolls were buttery and delicious, the caesar salad, crab cakes, and seafood martini were all great as well. My Mahi dish was prepared perfectly and had a side of tasty mashed potatoes. The desserts were also excellent. So far in Florida, all of my restaurant experiences have been spectacular!

Saw that this restaurant had very good reviews and decided to give it a try. It lived up to the reviews! The food is excellent! The crunchy grouper was very good! The people at my table had the burgers and a crab cake said they were very good also. The service was great, the waitress was attentive and prompt. The atmosphere was clean and contemporary. Nice music was playing too. Highly recommend this place!

Not a good night. Misto Review01/29/2013We arrived promptly for our 6 pm reservation. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find our reservation. Not starting out well but eventually they seated us. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special but not bad either. Despite not being full, the place was quite noisy. There were two groups in the restaurant, around 18 people in total. We started with an appetizer of Calamari. Nicely done and tender. The table rolls were hot but dripping olive oil and a ton of salt. I had a glass of the house Chardonnay which was ok however the stemware was the thick cheap bottle glass type normally used to serve water. Doreen asked for a caffeine free beverage and all they had was water@$5/bottle. I ordered a Caesar salad and Doreen had the house salad with Raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Both were fresh and crisp. The Caesar salad was huge and the dressing was very good. For our entrees, I chose to the Rib-Eye Blue and Doreen ordered the Veal Misto. I also ordered a bottle of the 2011 Felino cabernet sauvignon, a Paul Hobbs winery from Argentina. Misto has a fair wine list but sadly the wine was poured in the same stemware as was the Chardonnay, a water goblet. Apparently they only have one kind and size of glass at Misto or the wait staff doesn’t know the difference.Doreen’s entree, the Veal Misto was nicely presented but not very warm, Her Gnocchi was cold. My Rib-eye was rare rather than medium and was probably the worst piece of meat I’ve ever been served, full of grizzle and tough cords throughout. The twice baked potato was good but like Doreen’s Gnocchi, my broccoli was cold. The waitress brought a display tray of deserts. Doreen chose a chocolate desert and I opted for a cordial and coffee. I noticed the actual desert served Doreen was half the size of the one on the display tray. Doreen scored her meal 2.5/5 and I gave the meal a generous 1.5/5. I highly doubt we will be returning to Misto. In truth, I’ve had much better meals at most chain restaurants. The bill for the evening with tax and tip was just shy of $150. Neither a good value nor a memorable evening.

My Favorite in Cape Coral. Recommended by friends, we visited Misto for the first time Jan 18, 2013, with 6 friends that are regulars. So glad for the recommendation (never saw the place before then). 7:30pm reservation, the place was packed. Excellent calamari appetizer, superb Chilean Sea Bass with lobster ravioli special, delectable veal pasta dish, nice wine by the glass also. For 2 of us for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 glass of wine each, tax, tip = ~ $100. Worth it when it’s this good. Wonderful evening, and we’ll be back!
