March 2018Monkey Bar Steak & Seafood, Lafayette St., Cape Coral, Fl.. Here is my 2 cents on the food & chatter.Why do you go here! for beef. I got prime rib, medium rare of course, with veggies and hard to find steak fries.Being a friday I got the house clam chowder. It was delish.My entree was perfect. Add the au jus plus horseradish and a wonderful meal to behold. Though a birthday party of 15 or so was in the house, My server attended very well.This place has yet to disappoint me.Here is my 2 cents and some chit chat. I have been trying to go here for lunch for a while. Was it worth the wait???? NO not really… I will give a thumbs up on the service. Very good. The food so so. The sweet tea was ok. I must say the cole slaw was outstanding!!!! A little sweet and bit tangy good in crunchy… Now the burger was good not great. I asked for it medium rare but got rare. I prefer under cooking to over cooking. At 9 bucks or so priceyThis stood out. 75 cents for cheese or bacon added hmmmm ok. But 75 cents for a slice of grilled onion.What the hell????!!! How cheap are onions and how easy to grill a slice??? This should be free.Over all just ok… I will only be back if someone else foots the bill….NOVEMBER 2016Monkey Bar Steakhouse, Lafayette Ave., Cape Coral, FL. A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and chatter.The Food. I must say the chef was on fire.WOW,OBA,OBA. I had the prime rib, veggies, and smash garlic potatoes. The prime rib was excellent. A great medium rare with a encrusted rosemary/thyme. Tender to use a fork. Just enough fat for flavor and the carnivore inside me. The veggie were flavored enough so no extra seasoning was needed. The garlic mash potato was just pungent enough for garlic connoisseur.The service was quick and top notched. I must return.
Best food, drinks, music & prices in Cape Coral.Everything is amazing but my favorite is the prime rib and the Parmesan grouper. Great happy hour and drunk specials.They know how to take care the customers that’s why is so packed all the time!!! Love it!!!
We went to this place looking for a locals hangout. We found a great little place. Will be back to this bar and food joint. There was a great dj and the cancer society was there doing a fundraiser so it was perfect for a night of fun. Atmosphere was fun and light and the music playing was all old stuff not the new age stuff. So I say give it a shot.
Candian who loved Monkey Bar. MY wife and I accidentally ran into this bar while on a home searching trip to Cape Coral. We had a blast. The staff was great, food great especially the prime rib, and loved the entertainment. Don’t get me wrong this isn,t 5 star so if you are a stuck up or think you are above having a good time with the locals stay home. I have traveled extensively from 5 star to 2 star and this rates a 4 because these people were so friendly we felt right at home immediately. I can hardly wait to come back and see some of the new friends we made. Everyone seemed so happy with life. C U all soon
Great food great service
The in house dining room was empty except for my family, but the food was great. My prime rib tasted delicious and was cooked well. The outdoor scene was exciting too, live music and a fun atmosphere. Definitely recommended for good food and good times.
Hidden gem!! The food is amazing!
