May 2018Thirsty Restaurant, Vincennes St., Cape Coral, Fl. Here is my 2 cents and chatter.I tried something I never heard of before..The cold platter …oh yes a cup of chili. The chili, house made. Just ok. Needed hot sauce to kick it up.The cold platter. It is a large chilled plate with your choice of egg salad, chickens salad etc. There are hard boil egg, fresh fruit, a dipping sauce, olives, veggies. Healthy stuff that is served cold. Something for a hot day… I found it light and a bit refreshing.Truly for the healthy folks. Simple but filling.. 9 bucks or so…You will not find this dish at many other places.I enjoyed it.Service was great. Old school food. Well I finally got around to Thirsty. The oldest eatery in Cape Coral. It is not fancy but you get a warm welcome as if you have been coming here for years. At least that is how I felt. I was seated promptly ask for my drink & given a menu. Before I could peruse the menu my server sung out the daily special. Then gave me sometime. I order the home-made beef barley soup & special of the day stuff fish. The beef barley was great super hot and delish. Lots of beef & barley hardly any room for crackers. I was given a large portion of stuff fish and rice with a shrimp fill sauce. It was outstanding though a touch too much maybe of the sauce. Any way there was too much for me to finish so I needed a doggie bag.So if you desire good old fashion American food check this place out. This is for the safe diners not the adventurous kind such as myselfAugust 2016Thirsty, Vincennes St., Cape Coral, FL., Growling of the timmy and chatter. The food. A french dip sandwich with side of inhouse macaroni salad. Plus in house sweet tea. Tea just sweet enough, all U can drink. Now the macaroni salad. Not too much of robust of flavor BUT they add a bit of shrimp. Creamy and good.Ahh a carnivore delight. French dip… enough beef, robust flavor and au jus, not too salty just right as the little bear would say. This is an old skool eatery. Prices are reasonable, quantity good and quality excellent.Service is outstanding. Looking for a low key great local hang out, this is it. One of the best.Come on down.October 2016Thirsty’s,Vincennes St., Cape Coral, FL. A growling in my tummy and some chatter. FOOD.OBA OBA!!!! I found good fried chicken + steak fries. OBA OBA ! At a reasonable price.Beside a chain I have now fried chicken at a local restaurant. . Crispy on outside and moist inside. Plus meaty steak fries the kind a real MAN eats. Not thin wimpy stuff from mcdee’s. Along with very good cole slaw. Plus a serving of clam chowder.(Note: they switch week to week from Manhattan Chowder to regular chowder. So call ahead….)An excellent server, Tina. Oh yeah lets not forgot REAL in house cooked chocolate pudding.

Awsome…. Steak done just the way I like it. I haven’t been disappointed eating here in 20 years.01 Feb, 2012In my view, Thirsty’s is the best restaurant in Cape Coral. Service is excellent and the food is outstanding. You too will enjoy the dining experience.

Quaint restaurant with delicious food. The fried shrip was spectacular, steak was cooked well, but had I known how good the shrimp would be, I would have ordered a full plate of shrimp.

Thirsty’s is a throwback to another generation but this should in no way deter you from enjoying a delicious and relatively inexpensive meal. Three of us went tonight; one ordered off the menu (Coconut Shrimp) and it was very tasty. This entree came with their own house made fruit sauce and 2 sides. My husband and I ordered the two seafood specials (Grouper/Fish with 4 shrimp) and they also were very good. One of their sides is a carrot salad, which was beyond good. The service was prompt and friendly. Wish we’d found this place earlier on our vacation…there were other items we would like to try.
