My wife and I made a reservation for our December 24, 2015 anniversary over a week ahead of time. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were ushered to a table directly across from the kitchen entrance. It was virtually impossible to carry on an intimate conversation due to the noise and constant movement from the open kitchen entrance. We asked to be moved to another table (several were empty at that time) only to be told that it was impossible to move us because tables were decided ahead of time. Since we did not know ahead of time which table we would get, how did that make any difference?) At any rate, the hostess who seated us gave us a nasty attitude, pretended to check on possible reassignment, and returned with even more of an attitude. In addition, when I ordered a medium well done steak, it came to our table as medium rare with obvious pink meat. I did send a letter to the owners, but they have not responded. Therefore, not only can I not recommend this restaurant, but I will also avoid this restaurant in the future and will take family and guests elsewhere.
Started with appetizers and they were delicious. Coconut shrimp, stuffed portobello mushroom, crab cake, and mozzarella sticks. Main course was Steak Au Poivre (house specialty). Had no taste. Very disapointed. Husband had shrimp scampi that was good.
St. Croix Crab Salad House Specialty. Fresh blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, great crab salad in a cinnamon sugar tortilla shell. Delicious!
Had a great meal there last nite…called an hour ahead of arrival like they advised, then got there 75 minutes after we called, and didn’t have to wait 5 minutes…service was excellent and the Mahi Mahi w/pineapple and the Cobia were terrific…A little live music on Thurs nite added a nice touch…would definitely go back again
St. Croix Seafood Pie – House Specialty. A lot to eat! Very good seafood pie with light puff pastry.
I have eaten at some of the best…. … And this restaurant isn’t rated amongst then. However, it should be. Some of the best seafood I have had… Anywhere – period. I have had seafood at the best of the best in the following: NYC, Richmond, San Diego, Vegas (yes, Vegas), Portland, Seattle, Tokyo, Sydney… This is honestly yo there with the best. If you order from the ‘regular menu’, you don’t know what you are doing. Stick with the special menu – which has 10+ items on it… And you will be happy. I have eaten here probably a dozen times – usually 2x every 6-8 months and the waitstaff has recognized my wife and I. Service is great… Food is great… Be ready to wait for some top notch food if you decide to go here. If you choose to write a negative review… Park your private jet… Take the sweater off of the shoulders and relax. This place kills it. Absolutely kills it… Easily in my top 10 restaurants, maybe too 5.
Family vacation outing. Eleven of us finished up a week of fishing and relaxing on the beaches of Little Gasparilla Island; being from out of state we asked around where would be a good last night dinner before leaving Florida. We were told Farlow’s, and it turned out to be everything and more than we were hoping for. The food was delicious, including wonderful, generous sized garden salads; for dinner we enjoyed tropical baked Mahi Mahi, flounder stuffed with blue crab and topped with hollandaise sauce, and baked swordfish. The calamari appetizer was delicious also. Perhaps the best part was our waitress, Tamara. She was friendly, accommodating, and not in a hurry to have us served and hustled out for the next group. For an hour and a half she made us feel we were her table and she was our waitress. Two thumbs up and 5 stars all around!
