This is an European style restaurant or as there are in Boston area, small and warm environment to enjoy a good wine and a delicious food, all these without anyone rush you to leave. They make everything from scratch everyday, pasta, pizza, sauce, fresh mozzarella…. everything!!!As an Italian guy for me the only important are the food and a friendly ambient, that’s why Piccolo can’t be compared to any restaurant in the area.
Wonderful!. I had the mussels over the fresh fettuccine, the dish was seasoned to perfection! The fresh pasta is made there everyday and truly makes a difference. The restaurant is quaint and offers an new outlook on dining compared to other restaurants in the area! Service was very friendly! Overall I had a great experience and will be going back soon!
Too Bad. 8/19/2014I will start this review off on a good note. The food was good but, not great and the portions were huge. The owner was friendly but, the 2 servers were overwhelmed. They were overwhelmed due to the place being packed along with people standing around waiting for a table. It was extremely difficult for the staff to get around. Now for the bad stuff. This was my wife and I’s first (and last) visit. We had a restaurant.com $10 certificate and were advised that they no longer participate. Okay, we can get credits for the 2 we bought. We ordered a bottle of wine. 15 minutes later, the owner came out to serve it. Again, he was very nice but since the 2 servers were under age, they could not serve alcohol. A few minutes later, our server returned to take our order. My wife got the Eggplant Parm special and I got the Veal Parm special. Neither included a soup or salad. That was a bit strange to us. Well, we waited and waited and waited during which time I was blessed to have a male senior citizen’s butt right next me while he half-sat on a stool at a counter next to our table while his party waited for a table. Almost exactly one hour from the time we arrived, the owner brought our food. Again the food was good, hot and generously proportioned. We finished our meal, requested a leftover box and our check. That took another 10 minutes. We generally leave a 20% tip. Not tonight. 15% was it. If I could offer some advice to the owner. Get a bigger place. You obviously serve good food but, the facility is way too small. Put salt and pepper on the table. Don’t make us ask for it. Hire some staff that can serve alcohol. We ended up being in that restaurant for 1 3/4 hours. Not a pleasant experience. We won’t be back.
Wonderful food!!. We’ve been several times and tried different menu options and all are tasty! The pasta is fresh and the sauce is perfect! My husband loves the clams over linguine. My favorite is the pizza. I’m not sure what blend of cheeses are on it, but it is the best pizza I have ever had. Fresh and delicious – a gourmet treat! Try the Malbec red wine. It compliments any meal perfectly!
Great Italian sauce. Tried Piccolo’s Restaurant recently and was really pleased. I had the eggplant rolotini and Len had pasta. Their sauce is what we like, not too light and not too heavy. We will definitely go back again.
EXELLENT Best Italian food around. I have been there 20 times for lunch and at least a dozen times for dinner and had the same consistently good food every time no matter what I ordered. I always hear the people at other tables commenting to each other how good it was. Every meal is prepared like home cooking so it can take a little time to be served but is worth the wait. Try the deserts, they are exceptional. The only problem is too many people are returning and seating is limited to about 25. We went last night and had to drive by there were so many people waiting and got disappointed at the alternate place. I will call for a reservation next time. Lover of good Italian food.
Highly dissappointed. Read the goods reviews so I purchased a Restaurant.com certificate and both my husband and I drove to Punta Gorda, FL. Location of Piccolo is isolated from town. Building and restaurant are so run down we thought it was closed. Small place and absolutely no ambiance. Food prices were considerably higher than those listed in their menu we saw on the internet. We were so surprised to be charged 25 cents per glass for regular tap water. Taste of the food was ok, spaghetti overcooked and the sauce was watery. No salad included with the lunch. Bread was served sparingly. Only got one very small piece of bread. Asked for more bread and was given only 1/2 a roll. Food portion was fair size. Waiter was uninterested and service was slow though there was only one more table with people besides us. Child on next table asked for parmesan cheese for the spaghetti and waiter replied that they did not have any parmesan cheese. – By far, not an Italian restaurant. Unless they do something about their overall building appearance and ambiance, my husband predicts that Piccolo will be out of business very soon. — Definitely NOT a place to go for lunch or dinner.
