Fabulous meal from appetizers through desserts , great service and excellent value for price too. ProsciuttoCantaloupe appetizer was an excellent not so ordinary choice as was the lobster ravioli special entree . Make a reservation as we did cos they were turning away on Friday night game weekend .

We were one of two tables. The waitstaff was not up to par with a restaurant in its class. They were off talking and on their phone, while we waited for things we didn’t need to wait for. The food was fine, but left something to be desired. The house salad was basically lettuce with a little oil. All the non-pasta dishes were served with a penne pasta that tasted like noodles with tomato juice. In summary, had we paid $10 each, it would have been fine. But at the that price more is expected.

Disappointing and over-rated.. Heard great reviews and made reservation for before Hippodrome show, but will never go again. VERY poor service. Took over an hour to get our entrees, which were mediocre and overpriced. Waitress Jessica was brusque and twice we had to go find her for service. Salad was standard bagged greens with bitter house vinaigrette. House wine special was not mentioned (we heard about it from a different waitress telling another table). Took over an hour for our entree to be served, even though there were only two other tables filled in restaurant. Chef visited other two tables, but ignored us. Pasta was bland, house sauce tasted like it was straight from a can. DON’T GO. Pretentious with poor service, pedestrian food.

Get the prosciutto and cantaloupe. First time having it ever and always get it here!

A Big Disapointment.. We’ve been ordering from Amelia’s for a long time. Recently, the quality has slipped. Tonight we ordered Linguini w/Cedar Key clams in RED sauce and got WHITE sauce. This is the second time this has happened. Also order Chicken Marsala and received two tiny peices of chicken and about a pound of mushrooms in a very watery sauce. This is not the the norm. We will give it one more shot, then it’s on to Franchesca’s.

Neither my boyfriend nor I are huge fans of Italian food, but Amelia’s pleasantly surprised us both. We shared dinner here for our anniversary and it was extremely romantic. The interior of the restaurant has a very Italian vibe to it – big smiles from all the wait staff, romantic candles lit on every table, and the smell of pasta in the air. We were served by a kind old man who thought we were a very cute couple. He gave us our space to whisper lovingly and hold hands at our table in the corner. We were the last couple to leave the restaurant, and they stayed open way past closing time to wait for us. We were never rushed. The restaurant is pretty small, so reservations are suggested. But if you like excellent food, kind and attentive service, and a romantic atmosphere, Amelia’s will not disappoint. If you aren’t a huge fan of Italian food, Manuel’s Vintage Room (just a few blocks away) has more variety with a similarly romantic atmosphere.

What a great place for a nice dinner. Chef Andy even came out to say hello. The grouper was delicious and ending with a very good tiramisu
