Bagel Bakery is my go to breakfast place. I love their bagels and flavored cream cheese. Their focaccia egg sandwiches are tasty and huge. Good coffee, too. The atmosphere is great. I like to sit, have a coffee, and read the paper. Many people meet to have breakfast and chat. Bagel Bakery is warm and inviting. Also the owner truly helps the communities in Latin America where the coffee is grown by giving back. The service can be slow at times because the set up is inefficient, but that is my only complaint.

Best airy Bialys and crustiest bagels in town. I hate soft crusted bagels, this place is the best I can find in Gainesville & is close to original recipe boiled then baked bagels with a crisper crust. Whether they boil and bake -or- steam and bake I don’t know, all I know is that it’s the best bagels that I can get here. They have biayls now too that have a dreamy, airy, thick sourdough-like bite. Perfect! One of the few places that makes a true everything bagel (includes coarse salt and rye in the coating, not just sesame, poppy, & onion). And I love that they cook the scrambled egg for their sandwiches in a ceramic bowl (in the microwave) instead of in plastic the way Einstein Bros do. Microwaves and plastic are not a good idea.

Went here after reading all the great reviews but left frustrated, feeling broke, and unsatisfied. Very mediocre and bland! Not worth $7 for a measly tasteless bagel.

Meh…. I went to Bagel Bakery last week for the first time. I have to admit, I wasn’t all that impressed. I love the atmosphere and service but their bagel reminded me of the ones from Einstein’s (of which I’m not a big fan). I ordered an Eggl Bagel (meat, cheese, egg) on a Sun-dried Tomato bagel. The egg and bacon were flavorless to me. In addition, when I tried Bagel Unlimited, they actually put a freshly fried egg on it so I was hoping for something like that.I also purchased a small chocolate muffin, which wasn’t that special and wasn’t warmed. The reason that seemed odd to me is because I’ve never been to a bagel place where they didn’t warm up their muffins. Perhaps I will try it again but it’s kind of out of my way.Update (10/28/12): I gave Bagel Bakery another shot and I have to say that I was much more impressed. I routinely visit there now and have had success with the spinach bagel and the banana nut bagel. And I love their coffee! I’ve learned that it’s important to give a place a few tries before writing it off.

First time, won’t be my last.. I went in, the customer service was wonderful. When I tasted the freshly squeezed orange juice to decide whether I should get one for my boyfriend, I definitely fell in love after the first sip. I ordered the cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. The bagel was wonderfully fresh, as they are baked fresh daily. It was just a wonderful thing to start my morning with and I shall be back. 🙂 <3

Best bagels in town. I’ve tried out all of the bagel places in town and the Bagel Bakery is at the top of my list for true New York bagels. Plus the little samples they give you while waiting in line are a nice perk. 🙂

I have been going to this place for years and I haven’t had a single visit that wasn’t spectacular. The guy that runs the place is an american success story. Self made. His name is Ken. The guy is a millionaire who does the exact same job every day as the college students he employs. Hard working. Displays local artists work on the walls: all for sale and helping out the community. He gets his coffee from farmers living in poverty in different parts of the world while making major contributions to charity. But most importantly; the food has a great price and is incredible. Great atmosphere with many locals. What’s not to love?
