Great service and food!. Ate here last night for first time on a visit from Pensacola. Excellent, fancy sushi at reasonable prices. I have a son with numerous food allergies, and the staff navigated this with ease and courtesy. Service was also surprisingly fast. I was very impressed and just wish we had one of these in Pensacola!
I usually love the Bento’s on Newberry rd. But this time I ordered take out for the National champ and my person gets there and is told there is no order when I clearly made a order minutes ago. No one was apologetic so I was stuck foodless because the person taking my order chose to take the wrong name down instead of saying she didn’t understand what I was saying. Smh
Overpriced low quality food in small portions. I spent almost 30$ on a bentobox sushi and 1drink.. I wasnt even full after, I should have just gone to yamato
Great sushi & bowls. One of my favorite sushi places in Gainesville, Bento provides a cheap meal in an aesthetically-pleasing atmosphere. The Bento Boxes and the bowls are delicious as well. If you’re looking for a quick, low-key meal, I’d suggest Bento.
Their curry is incredibly spicy with no flavor. How is that possible ?? Vibes are weird as well.
Best Asian Food in Gainesville. Hands down Bento has the best japanese/asian food in Gainesville. I come from a japanese family and we all love the food in there. The flavors are very similar to authentic japanese cuisine (closest I’ve tried in Nor/Central FL). I always order the Spicy Cream Chicken and the Shrimp Tempura Udon Soup. I recently went to the Bento in Orlando and I was disappointed that they have new dishes such as Fried Rice, Thai Fried Rice, Chow Fun Noodle, and so forth. They need to bring those to Gainesville!
Cool Vibe, Average Food. One of those in-between type restaurants. Not really sit-down and eat, not really fast-food. Does it’s best to make you feel like you’re in Tokyo: crowded, loud, neon lights. I personally like the vibe, if you do to, go at night. They were playing Princess Mononoke when I went, so I highly approve of that. Food is pretty meh, but its to be expected for the price. Definitely a step above typical Chinese spots scattered throughout town. It’s for the young crowd; so go for a quick meal and keep your expectations low.
