I thought the food and service was over the top great. Best ever shrimp and grits. I will definitely be going back to try several other tasty looking options.
Food was okay. Not spectacular, but just okay. The landscape in the front needs to be taken care of better. The patio area also is a bit overgrown. The food took longer than acceptable. The espresso that was ordered took 18 minutes instead of 10 which was explained would take. The menus where a colored stock paper that was creased and somewhat wrinkled. My menu had stuck-on food on one corner. Likely will not return.
Love sunday brunch at civilization. I have been 3 weeks in a row to civilization.The food for brunch has been spectacular and the food comes out quickly, hot and well prepared. I can’t wait to go back again and again. I also love the fresh locally bought food. You can certainly taste the difference.the only area which can be improved upon is the service from the servers. they are great at taking the order but forget to refill drinks, and they do not come back around once the food has arrived. (being a former server, it’s annoying but ok)Congrats on having my new favorite brunch restaurant.
This used to be my favorite restaurant and I am sad to say that it has gone downhill. The interior is still as charming as every with its exposed wood trusses but the service is unacceptable and the food quality is tarnishing the business’s reputation. It is not fair to say that all of the servers are disrespectful but many are unprofessional. They are hasty and unwelcoming. The food is bland and more appealing on the menu than in real life. My roommates ordered the stroganoff which was just mushrooms, egg noodles, and too much vinegar. This is not worth the price tag. Save your money.
For what it is it is very good. I have eaten at Civilization many times. I have always enjoyed what I have been served and it has always been fresh. The service has always been OK.From reading some of the reviews I get the idea that the posters were expecting Michelin 3-star food at a Taco Bell price and were deeply disappointed when they didn’t get either. Wow. I think that they serve nice food possibly deserving of one Michelin Star at times (BTW, one star from Michelin is high praise indeed!) and is priced very fairly. I never object when my wife suggest a dinner for us at Civilization. It is not the place for the fanciest food in town, but it is a good place to go for a nice dinner.
Not bad. About what I expected from an 80%. Not a huge breakfast fan, but I was so hungover from Dog the night before I thought some eggs might do me some good. They didn’t. However, everything we ordered was served correctly. The service was a little slow, there seems to be some miscommunication between servers, unfortunately guests get the lesser end of the deal when this is the case. That was my only real complaint. Food was slightly above average. I do however like the co-op side of the place though. I wouldn’t mind going back, as long as I wasn’t picking up the bill.
Food was very good, staff were friendly and everything was timely. Looking at the line I thought we might have to wait a while but after 10 minutes they sat us and took our order. Very good food and the workers are the owners. It’s like a co-op.
