The Clock does not pretend to be anything more than it is, and that is a cheap americana-esque diner that is open 24/7. It is a quick eatery for the late night partiers and the mid-day stoners. It is a place to get comfort food that you don’t spend too much time looking at after an all-nighter studying or binge-ing. It serves a purpose and doesn’t have pretensions of anything greater. The service is decent enough, the staff is friendly though tend to be less prompt (understandably so) as their business picks up. Don’t expect 5-star service during the late night rush, and you’ll be fine. The food is not healthy. Their niche is american diner style comfort food, so don’t go expecting a lot of healthy choices or a gastronomic paradise. That being said, it is tasty and it tends to be made quickly and efficiently. The cheese tastes a bit like plastic and the mashed potatoes may come from a box, but it delivers to realistic expectations.I’ve spent many a night eating at the Clock after a late shift or while trying to sober up from an evening out with the lads. It is exactly what I expected and delivered in spades.
