Yes, it is the best Sushi in town and pretty much everything about the place is excellent. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance on weekends and graduation days.A bit pricey considering it is in a student town. Mahzu Sushi & Grill is a very good alternative for budget minded folks.
Not too busy but service was extremely slow, didn’t even get acknowledged for 10 min then the slow service continued. Good food once it got there
Two of my friends convinced me to check this place out tonight. We ended up going an hour before it would close, but everyone there was sweet and we never felt rushed.Everything we had was amazing. We ordered many different platters throughout the menu to get a taste of everything there was. We tried the ginger salad, the madai platter, salmon ikura, salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri (we’re big fans of salmon if you can’t tell), 7 piece nigiri special (which changes every time since it is the chef’s choice of the night. We had crab, yellowtail, squid, shellfish medley, etc.), and the Euro trance rolls. Not one of these platters disappointed us. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we received. We also tried a couple cocktails, including the Gangster and the Geisha, as well as one that was infused with miso. Both were quite different from anything we had ever tasted, but pretty good nonetheless. Finally the dessert. We got an order of ginger ice cream and an order of green tea ice cream. Absolute musts if anyone ever goes!! I’m not a big fan of ginger, but that ice cream was fantastic. So smooth, and all made completely in house!Overall great experience. The restaurant itself was very nice and cozy, and the people there were very welcoming. I will definitely be going again soon!
The best sushi in Gainesville. We also enjoy the small plates. Drinks are amazing and creative. We go there for special occasions and date nights. The restaurant is upscale for Gainesville and so more expensive, but worth it. The decor is trendy and the waitstaff is beautiful. But they are professional and efficient. Definitely a must do.
Dragonfly has easily the best sushi in town. The bar is also amazing. The bartenders as well as the servers know exactly what they’re talking about when recommending food and drinks. This place is always packed, and for good reason. YUM
Over rated. The sushi bar, you know… The place where all the raw fish is kept… should not be so close to an open HOT kitchen. This can spoil the fish. Poor restaurant design. Otherwise food is a bit pricey for the quality. There are better sushi places a in gville.
Good food and great ambiance!. I have been to Dragonfly twice now and both time have had excellent food and service! I got sushi one time which tasted very fresh and well put together and I got a Ramen bowl the second time with pork belly. Both were delicious. Will definitely be going back!
