Las Margaritas is a family friendly restaurant that serves authentic Mexican cuisine. Inside you will find a brightly colorful dining room Mexican ambience with a decor that is festive with individually handmade painted and artistically carved chairs and tables. Overall maybe your first thought is that you forgot your passport. My wait staff provided good service were pleasant and knowledgeable of the various menu items. Lunch specials (with about 30 selections) is served every day till 3pm. There is also menu selections for vegetarians and kids (age 12 and under). I had the Fajita (Chicken, pork or steak) #24. Serving size was larger than I expected to eat.

Good Tex-mex. I always get the pork carnitas-juicy chunks of fried pork. My husband likes the relleno. The waitstaff is always friendly. The decor is purposefully tacky. Best American version of Mexican in Gainesville.

Food is always great. Best place in town for margaritas! Yum! This place is a must if you like Mexican food. Don’t forget the queso. Soooo yummy

Another poor excuse for Latin food in Gainesville. I was pretty disappointed in the food. It was edible at best. You can tell the food is not fresh with the exception of guacamole and the pico de gallo. It looks like they scoop it from huge mass made tubs of ingredients and then reheat whatever other ingredients needed to create your entree. We ordered enchiladas and a chicken entree and one of the enchiladas seemed to have been made with those nasty fake plastic American cheese slices…Would I ever eat there again…? No. It was not worth it. Try it for yourself, but you can definitely make better Mexican food at home.

What happened?!. The food and service used to be great, now however. The service has been declining ever since summer last year. First it was bad front house and bad waiters/waitresses. I was scoffed at for needing a high chair, constantly given food but no utensils, had to explain why two workers were shoving(they were flirting) each other to my 4 year old daughter they were standing next to my table. Literally had to wait to be seated so the workers could take some selfies, they stopped giving refills on drinks and chips, sat through a whole meal and a dessert with no refill, this was the whole families in laws included favorite. It’s depressing how terrible it has become, final straw for me inedible food. My mother and I love to split the nacho supreme it’s delicious with tomatoes, onions lettuce guacamole, sour cream, cheese sauce and chicken. They burnt it until the cheese was rock hard, and black instead of creamy white, chicken was dry and stuck in the rock hard cheese, they gave us lots of lettuce maybe to hide their failure. I worked in food I have never sent anything back, but this was enough, I had to do the one thing I hated. Sent it back they took it of my check but they did not apologize, or give us any other discounts for their mistake. My mom actually felt bad for saying it was just OK. It was terrible, time to find a new family restaurant.

F bomb spouting waitresses, horrible service and so so food… This place has changed…. Was there for diner tonight at a table near the kitchen. Coming out the kitchen, a young waitress yelled at a co worker: F$&k you! To which the other replied: no, F$&k you! Very loudly. She then looked at me and smirked…. Uhm, really? Then a busboy decided to get in the back of my shoulder, over my head (literally almost on my back) to chat with a friend of his, at another table, across mine, until I turned around to stare at him. He moved but never apologized. Our waiter never returned the entire meal to check in our drinks and mine was empty for a very long time. The food was mediocre at best. When I told the cashier about the issues, she didn’t seem surprised, nor did she seem to care. Been there a number of times but tonight was the last….

Service. Food Excellent! As for service waiter person- Although not rude at all, the attitude was slightly on the indiffernt side, and in hurry. Example when food finally came the plates were not put in front of person they were thrusted to side and not gentle like but with attitude. ? Not a smile or Good Afternoon or may I get you anything more from waiter.!!otherwise the Food Again Excellent and the outdoor seating wonderful.
