If you are looking for a romantic date spot, look no further than Manuel’s vintage room. The atmosphere can be described as sensually European. The restaurant itself is the gem of Gainesville dining, hidden away from the louder parts of downtown. My boyfriend and I had a date here one night and it was by far the most romantic date I have been on in the states with him. We met studying abroad in the south of France, and this restaurant brought back many beautiful memories from that trip. The brick walls and dim candlelight reminded us so much of the meals we shared in Europe. If you prefer excellent-tasting food and an extensive menu, better try 101 Downtown or Dragonfly. But if you are looking to whisper quietly in the candlelight, sip on glasses of excellent champagne, and reminisce about your most romantic memories, Manuel’s Vintage Room will not disappoint.
Sterling service, fantastic food. This is one of the two best restaurants in Gainesville, by far the best Italian, and has by far the best service of any place in town… or perhaps anywhere I’ve ever eaten. I first brought my daughter there when she was 7. Getting up to use the restroom her dress that time caught on the tablecloth and sent 3 glasses crashing to the floor. 3 servers immediately came over to help
Went here for an anniversary dinner and had a lovely time. Food was amazing and the staff was extremely attentive and kind. Tables were a tad too close together though
WORST SERVICE EVER. My husband and I were in Gainesville for a Florida Bar event and decided to go out after for (what we expected to be) a nice dinner. We ordered an expensive meal and bottle of wine. However, before we were even finished eating our waitress came up to the table, picked up our glasses and asked if we would finish the rest of our meal OUTSIDE because she had other customers that she wanted to seat in her section??!!!!!! I have NEVER heard of a restaurant treating people in this manner and will certainly never go back. For such a pricey restaurant, one would think Manuel would hire employees with a little class.
Manuel’s is a true hidden gem. For a small town, the overall experience would be comparable among the best in Manhattan.

This place is so good!! Honestly one of the best places to eat in Gainesville. A bit pricey but worth it. The owner sits in the restaurant and makes sure everyone is happy with their selections. Dessert is great here too! Truffle mushroom pasta is amazing!
