Stopped by and was lost right from the get go. There is no seating sign, there was no waitress to take our order and half the vegan food was out of stock. We ordered two sandwiches and a slice of cake. It took them 45mins to get us the sandwiches and they totally forgot our cake, we had to go up to the front desk and remind them. THEY HAD IT RIGHT THERE AT THE COUNTER AND WOULDNT EVEN BRING IT TO US. I had high hopes but this place blows, don’t waste your time or money.
Horrible and obscene music. This coffee house would be perfect but it strains the ears with HORRIBLE RAP music with OBSENE lyrics. I amsurprised the authorities have not investigated this. The music is abusive and violent and does not do justice to a placethat could be classy- it makes it TRASHY and degrading.
Coffee & Indifference. The few friends I had were always telling me I was rude, uninterested, and generally unsociable. Every time I’d have to wait for longer than 2 seconds for someone to decide something, I’d do my best to muster up a wilting glare to let them know that I literally hated them. I went my whole life being annoyed by the slightest thing. To say I was tolerant was like saying the rain falls up. I vaguely remember people telling me that I needed to change my ways but I was too busy judging them to listen that closely. Then one day, after going to bed on what seemed like just another day, I woke up as a Maude’s employee. I opened my eyes and somehow I was standing at the register with customers facing me. I looked from the register buttons, to the person standing in front of me not comprehending anything. I glanced over to my right and saw another zombie like apparition that acknowledged me with a knowing nod and a roll of the eyes. I think this was another employee, but I wasn’t sure because they didn’t say a word. I sighed and turned back to the customer, waiting for them to decide what they wanted. Every day is the same now, I wake up, I am standing in front of the register, I take people their food after deriving a distant feeling of joy from waiting just long enough to piss them off before bringing it to their table. I slap together sandwiches, I microwave both bacon and ‘fakin. I am a seething entity of hate and indifference. This is purgatory, this is my punishment. Take heed fellow mortals so that you may avoid this fate!
Games, Cookies, and Tea. I came for the desserts and the wonderful outdoor area where we could play the provided Clue, In a Pickle, and Othello. Fabulous people watching and I fell in love with the honey and mint tea as well as the chocolate chip cookies!
Mixed feelings. I like some things about this place but always find myself wishing it were just a little better. The staff is usually pretty friendly, although never very efficient. I like their coffee drinks but have tried several desserts there and have found them to be pretty dry and a bit lacking in flavor. That said, the location is great and I like both the indoor and outdoor seating options equally well. It is a great place to relax with friends, as long as you aren’t there too close to closing time (which sometimes isn’t all that close to ACTUAL closing time), in which case they will pretty much pull the chair out from under you. Bottom line, this place can be a great little coffee nook that is pleasant at certain times of day.
Really cute guy working there last night. Reason enough to go!
