Tasty, Ethical, and Cheap Coffee. Radical Press is the obvious choice of best coffee shop in town, in my opinion. Their prices really can’t be beat, even if you leave a generous tip — which is a great idea since the worker-owners of this upstart business often have to volunteer their time to keep this labor-of-love growing. Which brings me to another reason Rad Press is great: it’s a worker-owned collective that contributes its profits back into community projects, like the Civic Media Center, which houses it. Personally I like knowing that more of my dollar is staying in the community instead of going to some far-off board of directors. Also the coffee is all organic and fair trade. And tasty! There is also an impressive menu of non-coffee drinks like shop-made sodas and herbal teas. Great snacks too, most of the vegan and gluten-free. The CMC is like a progressive library, it’s a great place to study and meet with friends. You can also sit outside in the Courtyard.

I would say keep trying out new recipes and offer decaffeinated organic coffee, just because some people can’t have caffeine unfortunately. Keep up the great customer service 🙂
