Everything is delicious! Be sure to get a rosemary Baggett or three and check out the wine tasting. The cereal bread is a favorite too and all the desserts.
The absolute BEST eclair I have ever tasted! The real deal with real ingredients, and I highly expect made with love. Nice seating outside to enjoy the weather, see and be seen if you care about that. I will surely have to try a variety of baked goods there.
Some great, some not so much. I’ll list the Great and The Not So Great…~ The Great ~- Amazing Bread Pudding, especially when made with croissants!!!- Amazing Butter Tea Cake Loaves. They are soft, sweet, dense like pound cake and crispy on the top! Lemon, orange cranberry, etc. They seem to only make one flavor at a time, just buy it, you can’t go wrong!!- THE BEST NAPOLEON you will ever taste in Gainesville! Every bite you’ll wow yourself how fresh and delicious and perfectly balanced the custard is, the right touch of liquor, and how fresh it is!- The soup. I was not a soup person, I hated it unless I was sick… until I had Uppercrust’s soup. I love every one I’ve tried. They’re a hearty and filling meal. The BEST cream of mushroom, Ham & split pea, lentil & sausage, lamb and farro, et. soups you’ve ever had. Note: they can be too salty, eat with some bread. When in doubt, ask what soups they have and try it.- The loaves of bread (boule anyway). Amazing! Order a Boule (pronounced: BOOL) sliced and you’ll never want to buy a brand-name-factory-bakery made loaf of bread from Publix ever again for anything. Plus it freezes and defrosts perfectly in the plastic bag they give you.- Artichoke mousse spread -or- goat cheese with fresh garlic and herbs in the most delicious olivy-tasting-olive oil = OMG! Bread, wine & fresh fruit or veggies are perfect light meal!- Amazing sweet croissants: almond croissants or almond butter roses, raspberry, pistachio, chocolate, etc.- The helpful & nice new counter people!~ The Not So Much ~- More of a website or Facebook presence to post what’s freshly made that day to come and get!!- They never seem to put prep or expiration dates on their refrigerated grab-and-go spreads, mousses, soups, cheeses, bread pudding, etc :(- I’ve tried and tried with their scones on several occasions, but they’re not off, they’re just a bad recipe no matter the flavor it seems – WAY TOO SALTY and unbalanced, inedible! Go to Fresh Market or elsewhere for scones.- Needs less salt in the soup.- Their cookies are either too salty or completely tasteless :-/- Why are there ever piles of burnt croissants in the case ready to be sold?!- The croissant middle of the savory roses (feta and artichoke, turkey and brie, ham and swiss, etc.) are raw or undercooked and not edible under the toppings. Is a twice baked process used? These could be awesome! 🙁 – Cream puffs. Almost, but regrettable, I think they may have held on to them for selling too long and I didn’t get them fresh enough.- Their white bean mousse spread is made from canned beans! I can do that but rather avoid the BPA from the cans. Wish they made it from dried beans.
