Best to arrive before 12 Noon as Johnnys fills up quickly at this popular BBQ in Keystone Heights, Florida. The customer friendly wait-staff is kept busy preparing their tables for the next waiting dinners (while the seats are still warm). Offering Eat-In, Take-Out and Drive-Thru options from their menu of Sandwiches, Salads, Soups, Flame Broiled Burgers, Signature Riders & Wraps, Steak & Seafood, and of course Barbeque. They have Ribs & Combo Platters, Lunch (served till 4pm) & Dinner Favorites, Desserts, and also offer a Kids Menu. Catering is available. For lunch I had the Geneva Springs Chicken which is Mesquite with mozzarella (American cheese as an option), mushrooms and smoked bacon. Served with chipotle ranch sauce.
Initial impressions: semi-professional quality, great service, great food.I grew up in Keystone Heights, and Johnny’s was always a family favorite.The food is good, the staff is friendly, and chances are, if you’re eating here, you probably are neighbors with them.Johnny’s is wildly successful, but mostly because of it being the only decent Bar-B-Q for 70 miles in a small southern town full of Bar-B-Q lovers like myself.

Happy customer here!. We really enjoyed our meal; the service was fast and the food portions generous. I had the jumbo Carolina Q sandwich with slaw and a side of lima beans and was very pleased with the flavors and tenderness of the meat.My friend enjoyed ribs with barbequed beans and slaw and found them to be smoked nicely and tender. The portions were so big that she had to take part of her meal home for later!Fast service and the staff is friendly and helpful. Great family place!
UNDERCOOKED BAKED BEANS – TWICE!. We got carry out a couple nights ago and for the second time we have gotten baked beans that are undercooked. Who is making the decision to serve raw baked beans? How many years have you been in business? Come on get your act together. When and if we go there again I will open the beans up right there and try them before taking them home.
This place was packed! I felt terribly rushed to get out because they let the waiting customers stand around the edges of the dining room. Our pulled pork was reasonably good. The sides were uninspired. And our kid’s hamburgers looked like they came from a box. On the plus side, they remembered to leave the bread off of our plates.
Ok… So I have said I wouldn’t eat here again, and somehow I managed to find myself so desperate for a restaurant in my tiny home town that I tried it again. Although the restaurant is beautiful inside and service is awesome, the food is absolutely horrible. Order cheese sticks… they arrived in 30 seconds and we were warned they would be very hot. Yeah right, they were cold and had obviously been sitting for a while. Pulled Pork was tiny fatty pieces that tasted like warmed over cold cuts. Mac N Cheese from microwave, chicken strips old, hard, gross. This was during a busy hour. They are charging 10-14 dollars a plate for microwave food.Never Again!
