Awesome!. Best BBQ place to eat in orange park! They have recently updated their environment and staff and are thriving. LOVE the food and the prices!! Take it from a picky eater. .
Absolute worst bbq. I agree with previous post about this being worst bbq besides Jenkins I had the all you can eat pork, cold, greasy and no flavor at all it came as a sandwich not at all what I was expecting, like sliced pork, when waitress asked how I liked it she was apologetic but made no offer to replace for something else, neither did manager, poor customer service, all I ate were the fries, the beans were cold and flavorless too, $13 for some fries, I now know why it’s called the pig because that is some slop.
Terrible, if this is BBQ then I’m Leonardo Da Vinci.
Don’t Even Attempt Takeout. I have been here twice for takeout and both times items were left off and we had to go back. The food is good enough and the ribs are actually very tender and tasty, but if you don’t get all of the items that you pay for it’s just not worth the effort.
I went in with my husband and and son and not one person greeted us nor brought us a menu …then we sat ourselves and set there for almost20 minutes and the workers stared at us and once again didnt greet us so after sitting there we walked out this was the worst managed resurant ive ever been in
Discriminates against blacks! Very poor visit with my wife and kids. We have always eaten at the pig in Callahan and the location on Normandy and have never witnessed anything as terrible as this locations service to a lady and her children! As we where being served a black women and her 2 children sat across from us and never got service, no hello, no menu, no drinks nothing! More white folks come in and table were filling and all of them got all of the items mentioned above. As I noticed what what was happening I was getting very irritated . This was not some disrespectful loud outspoken woman with disruptive children, just a very peaceful lady and her children who made a bad decision to spend their money here. After 15 minutes or so multiple table that were filled after her had began to eat. Her kids were eating some chips she provided them with anxiously waiting to get some food. After walking up to the cashier and pointing out where they were sitting a waitress walks by and literally drops a menu and silverware on the table never saying a word and kept walking. At this point the lady remains calm and when another waitress approaches her she politely ask for the manager who is not available so she ask for the contact info gets up and leaves. By now I feel so bad sitting there eating while this lady and her children were never even offered a drink. We paid our tab and left. I will not support and establishment that condones this kind of behavior! Racial discrimination should not be tolerated anywhere! Rest assure my family or anyone I know will never step foot into another Pig Barbecue again!
In the vast wasteland that is…. Jacksonville BBQ, this rates as the worst in the area next to Jenkins. First of all, I knew I was in trouble when I heard the guy in the kitchen pounding away with a cleaver on my order of pork. It came out the same texture as tuna from a can. In fact, tuna from a can makes for a better representation of barbecue than this crap. There was no smoke flavor at all, and the pork tasted like it had been soaking in water. The sauce (mustard based) was no help, it was just a runny flavorless mess.Once again in a north Florida barbecue joint, the best thing I had was the Texas toast. Actually the collards were very good, so good in that I mixed the pork, beans, and collards all together so the pork would be touched by something with some flavor. If you go, ask for Daisy….she’s wonderful. But my advice is to stay away, if you’re in Orange Park and must have BBQ, take a drive up 295 to Gators, its about the best around.
