Whiteys is a great restaurant over all. The food is amazing. There is a lot of seafood. If you don’t like seafood you can always choose from their non seafood options. The service is great. I would suggest going there.
Whiteys is one of my favorite seafood places to go to! The whole atmosphere is wonderfully set up, and you can either boat or drive here!
I visited Whitey’s for the first time in 37 years for the sake of the found memories of the days when I was in the Navy at NAS Jax and the men I knew! How disappointing it was to insist going there and embarrassing after all the stories I had told my wife and friends. I don’t know where to begin, but I now know why the servers don’t wear name tags! So you can’t mention them in a review. Ours was the most arrogant and disrespectful girl I ever met. Then she is going to blame our small party of four for the greasy over salted fried in day old grease order on us, because we took so long to order? Very disappointing, on the upside, the server got hers in the tip! $0
My wife and I had lunch at Whitey’s Thursday (9/15/16 ) she had fried cat fish filets and she saidthey where ok but I had buffalo chicken wings and they were with out a doubt the worse wings I have ever had, very bland taste and cooked just past RAW ! never again. P.S.the waitress was excellent
By far the best all-you-can-eat crab legs in the greater Jacksonville area! Happens Monday night and we make it a habit to go every few months because my husband loves crab legs. Typically, each batched is cooked right but you do get an occasional cluster of cold or dry. Even if you don’t like crab legs, they have a great menu of sea food and steak. You can get it fried, broiled, blacked, grilled and steamed. My favorite part is the salad bar. They have great fresh toppings and the ranch and Italian dressing are delicious. I could just eat the salad bar and be satisfied…plus it comes as one of your side choices. Whitey’s sits on the water and you can get there by boat! The out door seating is also nice. If you like sea food you won’t be disappointed!
Service sucked and food wasn’t all that great. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table, waited another 45 minutes or more for our appetizers to come, only to have the waiter spill one of the appetizers as he was serving it. They replaced it but it was undercooked. At that point I was already pissed off, my kids were hungry and kept asking where their food was. It was such a negative and stressful experience for such below average food. Definitely not worth it. If it were up to me, I would shut this place down. The only thing going for it is that if you had a boat, you can dock and get food, but if I were a boater, I would just much rather fish it than go here.
We have gone there a couple of times to give it a fair chance. We were disappointed both times. They brought the wrong order, their food is greasy, it is indeed crowded but not worth the wait or time & money.
