Awesome place with great seafood! I like the fried buffalo grouper bites with Ranch. They are rich but can be a great snack or lunch. Also, be sure to try the bacon wrapped sea scallops! It’s there top selling appetizer for a reason. Backwaters is a little tucked away, kind of hidden, so don’t give up on finding the place! Great view of the intercostal on the patio!!
I went here for my birthday since I used to live on Sand Key, and it brings back some memories. They have a great email club, where you get a free meal on your birthday. I had the filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked a med-rare, and delicious. It can get a bit pricey here, but overall we have never had a bad meal. The place is very tight inside, so it can get loud. Overall, we have received excellent service. I would recommend.
Slow, slow, slow. Food arrived cold and hard like it had been sitting in the window under a heat lamp. Disappointed.
This is the worst service I have received in two years. This place needs serious managrment. I have been at my table now for over a half an hour and JUST got my beer and ordered an appetizer. I may be dead before dinner arrives. All too comon when dining alone, I was shunned by the incredibly young hostess, then given a table in the back where they obviously forgot about me. One waitress introduced herself and never came back. I finally had to ask the waitress who attended the table next to me multiple times, if she would find my waitress. After some time, another waiter appeared and got my drink order. Had it been five more minutes, I would have walked.EXTREMELY poor service- there are FAR more places to dine in the beach area than to have to tolerate this.
Nice lunch menu. Had a big juicy burger. It was maybe a bit too greasy for me, but depends on your taste. Service was average.
Service was very slow on a slow sunday night. We had everything from hamburger to steak and nothing tasted good. Even the butter had a nasty taste. Would mot go back or recommend.
We started with bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer for $12- horrible! You get 5 small scallops, tough and over cooked covered in a blackening that sends you straight for your water. For an entree I got the fried shrimp basket that comes w/ fries and cole slaw. Well… You only get 6 shrimp and they aren’t even jumbo shrimp! They are a smaller medium size. The cost for this basket 14.95!!!! We came for lunch. Not worth it!! We asked the waiter if there was a mistake, he said no! That’s how many we serve. He did not care and did nothing to fix it. For $30 for one person- go to Columbia! Or better yet go to Frenchys across the bridge.
