Amazing Sandwich!. Sal (the owner) is a very nice guy. This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, but everything he carries is very good. I go there for the Italian sandwich with everything on it. It’s about $7.00 and worth every penny. But call your order in because he is often busy and can’t get to your sandwich right away.
No Other Italian Deli Like It. Plateroti’s has the most delicious homemade marinara sauce, meatballs, and gourmet meatballs (with a cube of mozzarella in the middle). I’ve shopped here for years. Plateroti’s stocks specialty Italian items I can’t find elsewhere, certainly not locally, and everything Plateroti’s sells is amazingly fresh. Their variety of imported foods – olive oils and wines for example – is incredible. The cheeses are fabulous. And the breads – well, I try to ignore them because they’re addictive. None of the specialty shops, either in Pinellas or Hillsboro, carries the variety or quality of Italian items I find here.
