I love this place ! They always have the freshest food and the best customer service! My son and I cannot wait to go back. They have an excellent variety of all different fish and the prepared food is very good as well. try the Captains fish and chips for something quick or try their salmon. its excellent on the grill and so fresh.

NOT IMPRESSED. I bought some (uncooked) crab-cakes and two pints of soup…the crabcakes had WAY too much filler and hardly any crabmeat…the She-Crab soup was awful and the Lobster Bisque was just disgusting, full of tomato paste…BARF and got thrown away! Again…not a trace of shellfish in either soup…just grinded up bits here and there – kinda like leftovers from something else.
Great!. This place is awesome with a very efficient and knowledgeable staff. Took my brother from Seattle in to get fish for a home cook out and he was in heaven. He likes Gulf seafood and we both were very pleased with the freshness and prices. Worth going 20 minutes from Countryside to get their seafood. Better than any others around (since Sarma closed her place in Dunedin).
Prepared Food And Fresh Seafood.. Wards is a long time, fresh seafood market once having several locations but closing them to only be located at this current address, the original location from year one.Wards is primarily a seafood market with numerous fish to take home and prepare. There is a selection of prepared, hot seafoods available that are ready to eat if you are at work or need to take home for dinner.Great place for both fresh caught seafood and ready to go.25 Jun, 2012Fresh Seafood & Prepared Seafood All In One Store!. Retail Store Hours;Monday-Saturday 10 am to 7 pmSunday 10 am to 5 pmGalley HoursTuesday – Saturday 10 am to 6:30 pm~~~~~Wards finally settled at this location as their only location. Years ago they had shops all around the county but they closed tem in preference to have just this one location.Wide selection of prepared sea foods. Shrimp, mullet, mackerel, sea bass, grouper crab and more. You can get lunch every day you go in for a week and never have to have the same food twice.Wards also has fresh seafood on ice to take home. This isnt from some packing plant or frozen and shipped in, this is fresh caught, ready to go.Weve been Wards customer for probably 25 years and would rather make the drive to buy from them rather than the local grocery stores.
A Market to Seafood & Buy Food. I have been a patron of Ward’s for years. They have a great selection of fresh seafood and almost any spread, salad, seasoning, sauce and ready to cook seafood item you can think of (stuffed crab/clam/fillet, crab/salmon cakes, fritters, etc) and all at a fair price. They have some of the best tasting seafood salads & fish spreads in the area that you can buy in pints up to family size quarts. Some of my favorite things to get when I go are: Seaweed Salad, Smoked fish spread, stuffed crab, salmon cakes, fresh sea scallops and grouper. As a note: They do also have a food take out area with a menu of soups, sandwiches, seafood dishes that kind of reminds me of the menus you might find up north. A coworker & I tried the take out on two occasions (grilled fish, fried oysters & fried catfish). The fried oysters & catfish were very good, but I wasn’t very pleased with the grilled fish . Personally, I prefer grilled/blackened fish to anything fried (not big on fried foods). I realize Ward’s is not per se an actual restaurant, it is a Market. With that said, their grilled/blackened items really weren’t very tasty and somewhat overcooked (meat was tough & kind of dry). Every place has its strengths and I think their kitchen does better with fried/baked items than grilled. So if you like fried/breaded this is good take out and I do love their fried oysters.OK Now back to the Market aspect. Ward’s is my favorite local seafood market. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are free seafood recipes/ideas & heating instruction sheets on their counter, and if you have any preparation questions, there seems to always be someone there who will know the answer. Great staff, great seafood, great selection, & great Market!!
Best Seafood Market in Town. Always fresh – Nice counter staff – this is the place for fresh seafood – hard to find Florida Spiny lobsters etc…
