Pompano Grill – A Little Gem Hidden in Cocoa Beach. We have lived in Cocoa Beach for many years but never dined at Pompano Grill. If you asked us where to go for good seafood, we would name you this restaurant just from the word-of-mouth of our neighbors. A few days ago, friends leaving to return up north for the summer asked us to dine with them & suggested this restaurant. So our party of six made a reservation for 6 pm on a Saturday night. We were happy to see that the restaurant was not too busy when we arrived. We were quickly given menus to peruse and our drink orders were taken. One couple ordered a bottle of white wine & it was presented in a well-chilled insulated sleeve – how unusual in a restaurant! We have something similar that we keep in our freezer. My husband & I ordered glasses of the Cabernet house wine & they were generously poured and reasonably priced. We noticed that the bottles offered were reasonably priced, as well. Soon afterwards, baskets of warm thickly-sliced bread arrived with pats of real butter. We devoured the delicious dark brown bread. Our orders were taken in a timely fashion. We all ordered appetizers. My husband & I ordered the Escargot which were 6 pieces smothered in a creamy white sauce laced with brandy and containing a few capers – yummy. We ate every last piece & sopped up the remaining sauce with the lighter brown bread. Another couple ordered the same & the third couple wanted the Conch Fritter Patty – which we all tasted – oh so good, also. We all were served generously-sized Caesar Salads, presented on large chilled plates. Our salads arrived followed almost immediately by our appetizers which I thought was odd since we had all ordered appetizers. I didnt know why they werent served as a separate course. For my entre, I chose Shrimp Scampi and substituted a double order of vegetables for the rice. The shrimp were served in an different but delicious creamy white sauce and the vegetable medley was cooked perfectly. A thick slice of Kiwi on a lettuce leaf added another refreshing shot of color to the plate. My husband ordered Veal Piccata with vegetables and Fettuccine Alfredo. He is Italian and enjoyed his Italian dish. For the remaining 4 members in our party, one had the Blackened Mahi Mahi, two ordered a special on the menu – Pompano – cooked one of several ways and the last friend had Scallops in a sauce that looked similar to my Scampi sauce. Everyone was pleased with the food. Although we all enjoy desserts we were too full to have any – another time for sure. Service was attentive throughout the meal and our water glasses were filled several times without our having to request refills as were our bread baskets. Our waitress was friendly and answered all our questions about the food. She gave us a detailed description of the specials also. A couple of our neighbors arrived just as we finished eating and mentioned the great food that they had there recently. By this time, every table was occupied. As I looked around the restaurant, I noticed that it was fairly small with the tables pretty close together. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation so your wont be disappointed. Two walls have a series of lovely arches on them that added a note of elegance. A far wall paneled in wood near the kitchen held a large mounted fish. The opposite wall had windows facing the outside. Burgundy napkins were decoratively placed in water glasses adding another touch of elegance to the casual restaurant. This hidden gem of a restaurant has a reputation with the locals for fine fresh seafood. It is also known for its Northern Italian dishes. Although the menu isnt overwhelming, there are plenty of choices. None of us had any problem finding dishes that appealed to us. If you phone ahead to find out what the specials will be the next day, the restaurant cant tell you. Thats how fresh the seafood is here. If you visit Cocoa Beach be sure and dine here. If your food is as delicious as ours, you will have a terrific meal. As I left the restaurant, I asked our waitress to tell the chef how much we all enjoyed his cooking. Hopefully next time, we will visit on a less busy night & will get to meet the chef and complement him personally.

Nice Place, Great Food. This is a nice little restaurant my wife and I happened upon as we were in the area for a meeting. I had the seafood crepe and she had a New York strip. Both were very good. Deserts are made in-house and were also really good. Service was attentive. It’s not exactly cheap-eats. But a nice experience none-the-less.

Outstanding!. Food was delicious. Seafood was out of this world and the service was excellent as well. Desserts were delicious along with the our appetizer. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a good, laid back dinner in a nice cozy restaurant.

Awesome food. When I couldn’t decide between the swordfish or veal parmesan, they made me a custom dish with both. The kids also got free homemade ice cream. Would definitely eat there again.
