It’s pricey, but then again Everglades City is a tourist town. I’ve eaten here twice and both times my meal has been very good and the service was good as well. Their Fish Tacos are great but the star of the dish is not the fish but rather the black bean mix in the tacos. I also had their Good Ole Oyster Po’boy, which by no means should be considered a Po’boy, it was more like a oyster BLT on a hamburger bun, that said it was still pretty good. I would return, though it is pricey for what you get.
Competent food; the preponderance of ours was fried and properly so: onion strips (sold as rings) and oysters, I had a fried fish sandwich which was expertly done. Big slices of ripe tomato, lettuce on a grilled bun. Excellence is in the details. Wife’s pulled pork a bit too sweet for my taste. One annoyance: they really don’t have table service: you place the order at the counter, they bring it. So it bugs me a little that their receipts gave 15/18/20% tip recommendations preprinted. Two sandwiches, 2 beers, 5 oyster appy totalled $47. 5% cash discount. Oh, and while I love the decorations, I hates me some country music.
