Goldies Restaurant on Taylor Road is a great breakfast and lunch spot in Naples. I have already eaten here twice. I love the local atmosphere. Everything is authentic, not commercialized.For breakfast, I chose the Goldies Breakfast Combo. My personal combo was three pancakes, with sausage and scrambled eggs. This combo also has the choices of Belgian waffles or French toast, along with bacon and eggs cooked your way. Of course, I added grits and coffee. I must say that this breakfast was very good. For lunch, I chose the Club House. This sandwich had turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, along with potato salad and pickle. The wheat bread here is very good. Service both times was perfect. Note that there is almost always a crowd, so plan accordingly. Service is quick.
In the biscuits and gravy let there be Goldies… Ah Goldies, my home away from home! This place is an example of what doing it right is all about. No frills just a consistent product and service day in and day out. Don’t bother at the other overpriced breakfast places in town! This place has fast affordable breakfast and lunch not to mention they have a well maintained web site with the current daily specials. I am a very critical person when it comes to sausage gravy and biscuits, such a simple thing, but all the other places in town can’t seem to get it right. This is always what I order to base my opinion of a restaurants potential for other dishes, if you can’t get something as simple as biscuit and gravy right then chances are the rest will be a flop. I must say it was well put together and had a nice balance of gravy and biscuit. Much of this success I find is due to the owner Ciro sticking to what he knows and wants his establishment to be known for, instead of chasing what other places are doing in town.The new testament of Goldies.. I just reached the milestone 100 check ins, which is the most I have at any given establishment! I lived it up and ordered the full order of biscuits and gravy because sharing is caring and I am glad I did, as I would have had a hard time sharing it. Goldies delivered to me what was the best B&G I have had as of yet, I am suspect as to some minor changes in the recipe as a more sausage flavor and texture was present. I would like to think that some of the enhancements may have been because of the feedback I provided in previous reviews but nonetheless the recipe is definitely the best in the Naples area! While I don’t stray to far from what I know, the typical B&G with cheddar cheese grits are my go to items, the service knows it and most times expects it to be ordered by me. Naples best kept secret. My husband is in love with this place and asks me to go every week we have become regulars there everything is good, service is great he always gets the ultimate breakfast which is supposedly supposed to feed 3 people so everyone always eyes at him when he finishes it by himself. great homey food
Great breakfast. We were in the area wanting to try something other than skillets when I found this on yelp. The menu is huge with a ton of great sounding breakfast and lunch options. We ordered the biscuits and gravy to share, and both my boyfriend and I got the Egg’s Benedict entree. If your sharing between two people, you definitely only need the half order of biscuits and gravy because they’re huge, but delicious..will definitely be coming back for more! The egg’s benedict were pretty good, but not the best I’ve ever had..hollandaise wasn’t quite as thick as I usually like it. Hash browns were delicious though! We plan on going back for the biscuits and gravy and I look forward to trying some other menu items as well.
