Lots of likes?? For me, we were ignored in a near empty restaurant… All tables were dirty when we arrived, 2 customers/couples inside. pizza for me, my GF salad. We were not impressed. Service took over ten minutes to get us a menu and drink order, after welcoming us at the door. Table service and check service was weak too. Silly.

A pleasant surprise!. A very unassuming, corner location makes this easy to overlook. Lucarelli’s doesn’t look like much – dark tables,no cloth, paper napkins – but sit down anyway. The menu is generous and genuine. A nice array of appetizers, several salad choices, and a nice variety of pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches. We had two small salads, plenty large with great baby tomatoes and peppers. These were accompanied by a crisp and warm half loaf of bread, with a marvelous olive oil plate with garlic, spices, and Parmesan. My wife had a small spinach and tomato pizza, which was quite good. The crust was thin and crisp, with very fresh ingredients and a nice sauce which was mild and not reeking of oregano. I had a unique creation of the chef, pasta barnese – penne pasta (you have four choices) in an oil base with onions, bacon, broccoli, red kidney beans, and sausage. Great textures and flavor, and very generously portioned. Add a glass of surprisingly good Pinot house wine and, for less than $45, you have a great meal! Lucarelli’s is open for lunch during the week, and supper every day but Sunday, when they are closed all day. There’s al fresco dining, if you wish, live music on Friday’s ( we were told,) and a very friendly wait staff. Get past the uber casual appearance, and you’ll be in for a treat, that won’t break the bank. I will be back, with friends.
