Not bad…. Had dinner at O’Mei recently. Party of 6 adults and 4 kids/babies. Food was good. Service just OK. Ordered the fresh lettuce wraps to start. The order is supposed to come with 5 pieces of lettuce, but we only got 4, so I asked for the fifth piece as well as a few extra pieces so that we could finish all of the chicken that came with the order. Can you believe that I had to hear an explanation from the manager as to why she had to charge me an extra $4 dollars for a few extra pieces of lettuce!?!?! Our total table bill was north of $175 and the manager had the nerve to charge me $4 for 4 extra pieces of lettuce!?!! Unbelievable. I completely realize that $4 is no big deal in the grand scheme of things, but this boiled down to a matter of principal and left an unfortunate bitter taste in my mouth (no pun intended). Based on that alone, I wouldn’t go back. I’m sure we can find a similar Chinese resto in the area.
Authentic Amazing Chinese Food. You will be ruined for chain Chinese restaurants after you eat here! Took our family here in February 2014 and had an amazing experience with everything we ordered. Even the fortune cookies tasted like quality! Sauces tasted homemade, you had the option of brown or white rice (nice touch for the health-conscious), and the aromatic seasoning for the rice was exquisite.Everything was perfectly seasoned, from the beef to the duck to the veggie dish we ordered. We will definitely be going there again.
Grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered some carry out. The beijing chicken was delicious and so were the pan fried noodles. Fast and friendly.
Stay Away .. Had dinner there last night with family.Seated 50 minutes late with no apologies.Had to ask for water 10 minutes later at the table.Food served sporadically and 60 minutes later. One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had and I have been all over the world. Wait staff and bartender are afraid of owner and she refused to come to our table. Food good but not worth the aggravation and a 2 hour experience. We will NEVER go back and we live here!!! Not here just for a week!! There are better choices. The owner needs to realize that management and service are the name of the game. Not just the food.
Absolutely wonderful food, but questionable server. Four of us dined there about a week ago. The hostess, bartender, and owner were all very cordial, but our server was a total grouch! Each of us got different entres, one salmon, one sea bass, and two different prawn dishes. Everyone raved about their choice. Also, the spring rolls appetizer was superb. I will go back again and hope for a different server.
Horrible Customer Service. We walked into this place casually dressed but nice. The server seated us and recommended the pre-fix quite fast like they wanted us out of there in a hurry. The food came–Very Bland- No spices at all mediocre at best. The server practically took away our dishes before we even finished. My wife and I figured out that they really wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. Horribly rude service!! Stay FAR FAR away from this establishment!Never will we return again!-NEVER–Staff didn’t even attempt to say thank you for coming as we walked out. There are so many better places to go. What a horrible attempt at asian cuisine.
Another great experience. Previously, we thoroughly enjoyed our 1st visit to O’Mei. The second visit doubled our dining pleasure. When open to the expression of their refined culinary brand we find the flavors and preparation of their dishes stand well above most other Asian restaurants. Obvious care, education and experience have gone into the development of their menu selections. With this understanding, the staff respectfully and efficiently serves patrons who are receptive to the skilled preparation of complex but well separated flavors. The intimate, tidy and unpretentiously yet attractively appointed dining room sets the stage where guests can enjoy an elevated dining experience. After a successful repeat visit, we expect to return frequently.11 Dec, 2011Warnings dispelled. We were aware of questionable visits to O’Mei, but also understand the incidental and subjective nature of any review. So we went to see for ourselves. Compared to several other Chinese restaurants we have visited in the area, O’Mei easily stood above others when considering overall taste, presentation, ambiance and courtesy. We browsed their menu online and had a good idea of what we wanted. Our order for drinks, appetizers and entrees were taken in an orderly fashion resulting in service that was efficient and timely. This successful level of service allowed for a relaxed and unhurried dinner with friends. Have we had better Chinese food otherwise? Probably, but we are not in Asia, or a big city Chinatown. Our dining experience was most pleasant and we will return to see if consistent performance is another characteristic we can attribute to O’Mei. In the meantime, we offer our thanks to the establishment for a very satisfying evening.
