My experience was adequate at best but, unprofessional at worst. I went with my friend on his 20th birthday. The sushi was okay. The waitress mentioned that the rolls would be fried although my friend noticed that one was not fried. It was a simple mistake because we ordered two completely different rolls. Presumably, one of them was fried; the other was not meant to be fried. Before ordering the rolls, I mentioned if it was possible to not have avocado on the rolls; the waitress said that could be done. The rolls still had the avocado. I felt the ramen was a complete disappointment because of the price (around $18). I really did not feel I got what I paid for considering it was more liquid soup than noodles. Also, there is so much fat in the soup. I let the soup sit for around 8 minutes and a thin film of fat started to form on the top of the ramen. When my soup has more fat than I do, that is a concern. The restaurant doesnt suffer from a major flaw but, several smaller flaws. These flaws do add up; I really didnt want to add a tip at that point. I paid the bill. My friend and I started to walk to my car. We went into my car and a different waitress (not the one who served us) came out to inform us that we did not tip. She handed me the bill, expected me to add the tip, and kept staring at me. Essentially, she was acting as if I did not pay whatsoever. I felt uncomfortable so, I just signed the paper. My problem was that it seemed very unprofessional for her to do that. The fact that she seemed comfortable do this means she most likely has done this before

After reading the great reviews on this site, we decided to visit ZEN. We ordered Yangnyum Galbi Sal which is supposed to be marinated short rib meat. They served sliced ribeye meats which were sprinkled with salt and pepper instead of marinated shortrib meats and they said that’s what they serve for Yangnyum Galbi Sal which was totally different from the menu description. Yangnyum means marinated and Gali Sal means short rib meat. They were fooling non-Korean customers who does not know well about the food. I am a Korean who speaks, read, cook and eat Korean. We asked for marinated meats so they changed to bulgogi which is supposed to be marinated sliced ribeye. This time, they simply poured sauce over the meat they previously served as marinated..hahaha.. I can tell the difference between marinated meat vs freshly poured sauce over meat since I am 100% Korean and eat these food all the time. Also their serving sizes were a half the size of the most other Korean restaurants I’ve been to. Such a misrepresentation of Korean BBQ. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant for Asian BBQ to any one.

This was our first time but we would 100% visit again! The experience is truly made by having a table with the barbecue cooker but not every table has one. These tables are first come first serve and if it is in season in Naples, be sure to make a reservation first and foremost then request a barbecue table as soon as you enter the restaurant.Once seated, we were pleasantly surprised with scented warmed hand towels. The wait staff is very pleasant and always ready to make a recommendation if you are unsure what to order. We were happy with everything we ordered and the plating of the food is well put together and artfully garnished. We started with crispy bok choy and while I don’t typically enjoy bok choy, this dish was absolutely delicious! Reminded me of the crispy spinach they serve at China Grill in NYC. The bok choy was perfectly crispy on the leaf and soft stems which candied walnuts giving it the perfect sweetness. Following this dish was an octopus leg also served with bok choy which we were happy with after having devoured the previous dish, secretly craving more. The octopus leg was perfectly cooked and we anticipated it to be a little tough and chewy but it was very tender and come to find out, the chefs massage the octopus as a step in the cooking process! At this point I couldn’t wait for the sashimi that came next since each dish progressively got better and I was dreaming of the other 7 octopus legs.Sashimi is a pretty standard dish, but zen asian bbq even does this better than the competition! I am an unagi fan to begin with, but I have never had it prepared so tender and tasty as I did this night. Typically not a white fish fan, I loved the wahoo and yellow fin! Lastly we chose 2 barbecue dishes for the full experience! We ordered the marinated pork and beef short ribs per our waitresses suggestion and were not disappointed! Be prepared, you will cook this portion yourself, but that is all the fun! Much more enjoyable in a group rather than just a couple people. This comes with 3 dipping sauces, small plates of kim chi, seaweed salad, spinach, and pickled vegetables, and individual portioned bowls of rice.
