Been here a few times. Always been good. Typically go here for some British influenced food like shepherds pie and bangers and mash. Don’t come often since it’s a little more expensive with pretty much everything being a la carte, even a starter bread or rolls is at extra cost, at least that’s what’s it shows on menu and waiter never offered us any. Waiter asked if I’d like a small side salad, Caesar maybe, I said sure, side salad sounds good with shepherds pie since there’s no sides included – turned out to be a fairly large $10 bowl of romaine, not what I would consider a small side salad. Glad my wife had some but her crepes came with one side of asparagus so she didn’t have much. So overall cost is a negative. Food is good for sure, portions are fairly normal. If we share a salad or have an appetizer then we will have leftovers. My wife’s crepes were really good too, well prepared chicken, nice wine sauce, and tasty seasoning without any over seasoning – nothing has ever tasted over done or over seasoned. Another nice touch is a pleasant atmosphere and good service. Owners or managers are always checking that all is well without being intrusive. Generally we have decided to eat smaller and avoid desserts to lessen the fat/sugar hit of eating out. Last time here it was Father’s Day and they insisted on giving me a piece of their pumpkin cheesecake on the house – a nice gesture. So I complied and got stuffed pretty good. I’m not big on pumpkin spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, in anything other than pumpkin bread or cookies. Pumpkin coffee drinks are some of my least favorite. Anyway, it was excellent cheese cake – glad I had it. My wife only had one taste – she is not big on pumpkin spiced anything! Needless to say I was stuffed to the gills. We will definitely be back – it’s a bit more expensive so not a regular haunt but it’s on our list of favorites. Also, don’t let the name confuse you, it’s more British oriented – shepherds pie, bangers and mash, salmon are pretty much staples of the menu, and all very much like I had in Scotland. I am not sure about any ownership relationship, but it is definitely not like the other Vienna named restaurant not too far north of here which is more German influenced.

I just adore the ambience, quiet talking, cells not going off, respect of patrons and staff. Pinch me! I was here last Mother’s Day with my daughter and it was like being back in the UK, or the Empress in Victoria BC sort of. I just wish they had double thick cream! Food prepared fresh, hot and timely.

High tea is great, dinner not so much.. I took my 12 year old daughter for high tea. The experience was great, very friendly and attentive owner and staff. Tea and food was excellent! Everything was fresh and tasty. I loved it! I went home raving to my husband and we returned a few days later for dinner. Totally different experience. The evening staff was not friendly at all. in fact our waitress was borderline rude. She made no eye contact, had an upset look on her face and didn’t speak a word to us through our entire meal. I ordered artichoke dip for the appetizer. It was honestly the worst id ever had anywhere. It looked and tasted really old and slimy. My husband ordered a salmon dinner and I had a salad. The salad was good, but the salmon dinner was very overpriced for the portion and we recognized the fish was the same frozen salmon we had purchased from Costco. It wasn’t seasoned very well and was very small. My husband was not impressed at all. I had raved about the place but was shocked how different the experience was for dinner. The bill was very high and we left wishing we had stayed home and ate left overs. I will never go back for dinner ever again. But I do recommend high tea.
