My Favourite. First time I stumbled on Francesco I was still beat from a tough physical day working outside on a renovation. I asked if I could sit at a small table outside and loved almost every minute. I ordered three courses and had a tough time getting through my large and ultra sweet dessert. Of course I returned. The food is always delicious and the service helpful and supportive. Every time I eat a little too much. My usual is the three ceviche plate, the octopus and potato and the squid ink risotto. The specials tend to be a twist on one of their trademark dishes, and delicious. Strange for a Canadian to call this comfort food but these are supposed to be family recipes and you can taste the years of tradition in the recipes. Go and see for yourself.
Too pricey for what it is. It was my third time at Francesco’s but this one should be the last one. First, the service was terrible. The waitress was not smily at all except when we asked for the check. She looked bored or like she didn’t want to be there, which is very embarrassing for the customer. We ordered a bottle of wine and she poured a little bit in each glass before taking the bottle in the back of the restaurant. I don’t like that and I had a doubt when I saw her taking our bottle to serve another table. When she came back 5 minutes later, we indeed couldn’t believe how little there was left in the bottle. we told them it was wrong and we couldn’t be fooled. they admitted their mistake and brought us a new bottle of wine.We ordered a ceviche each: last time, they served it as an appetizer which was enough for me (as I couldn’t even finish it) for 17$. This time, she asked if we wanted it served as an appetizer or as a entree (didn’t know there was the 2 options, as it’s not showed on the menu. It came as an entree but on the check, the price jumped to $24, although the quantity was the same, just presented differently. The dish was slightly too acidic to be enjoyed. As for an appetizer, we ordered Scallops to share, we had 3 tiny little ones for $12. That is $4 the scallop, not so good… I don’t call this an appetizer, but an amuse-bouche.I know what good food is and I’m ready to pay the price for it, but this was NOT worth it. The prices are too pretentious. This was overall not a pleasant dining experience, and I am now looking for a new peruvian restaurant in town.
Great Experience. I had lunch with a friend who happens to be Peruvian. She ordered and I was delighted. The ceviche was amazingly good. I am not a huge scallop fan as they are usually over cooked, but these were really good. I loved everything she ordered and the wine our server selected for us was just like I like it…not too sweet, not too dry. We had a lovely meal and I would definitely go back…..with her! Loved it. (The only thing I wish was that they had a liquor license as I love a good pisco sour).
Great food, nice service. I went to Francescos for dinner on a Tuesday. I am from Venezuela and love trying different food. The food was delicious, wine very nice and the service staff very attentive. If you are looiking for a nice ambience, graet food and friendly service you should go there. Try the tuna appetizer and the rice on squid ink sauce, the server recomended that to me and was the best!
Amazing seafood. The traditional ceviche, and the black rissoto..MMMM, also the cuasa and the pesto rissoto.good and friendly service, The wine list have beautiful southamerican wines and the alfajor was superb.Good job Francesco.
Best Peruvian in Florida. By far the best Peruvian in Florida, I always drive from Palm Beach and back home very happy about food and service. The ceviche is amazing, try also tuna mosciame. Octopus and swordfish it’s a must.Highly recommended
Desillusioned. Food presentation was horrible.Wine list mediocre. It’s a five star wannabe that only meets that standard in its prices. The ceviches were unexpectedly mediocre at best and drowned in sauces in a bed of lettuce. Come on! Will never go back and will not recommend it to a friend. There are many other good ceviche options in Miami far better than this restaurant.
