  This is one of my favorite Japanese gems in all of Miami! My friend introduced me to Matsuri because he’s been a long time regular for their lunch special and after trying it I can definitely see why! Located in a large shopping mall, it’s a small restaurant with plenty ambiance. It does get a little cozy when it’s crowded (which it often is) but the high quality service never makes it feel like a problem. I recently took my boyfriend to try their famed $9 bento box lunch special in which he was surprised not knowing about since he used to live in the area. We sat at the sushi bar and the restaurant was already filled. The owner of the restaurant does everything right—-you constantly watch him circle his sushi chefs as he keeps an eye on different staff members which is why eating at Matsuri is always an excellent experience. We ordered two rolls alongside our bento boxes which was way too much food; the box is plenty enough for a meal (comes with California rolls/salad) and there is a large variety of options so you can build your box to your taste preference. My boyfriend got: shrimp tempura & sashimi within his box and raved about it. Freshest sashimi he’s had since he last went spear fishing and the best California rolls he’s ever tasted—considering that he hates them. I ordered the same thing and was very satisfied.I’ve been here for dinner as well which is an extensive menu of sushi, rolls, and authentic Japanese dishes—-none have disappointed me thus far.   If you are a connoisseur of Japanese food and you want to indulge in exquisite flavored dishes beautifully plated making each meal a special moment, then Matsuri is your best bet. Situated in Coral Gables, on the famed Bird Road, it has become a much appreciated venue by its diners. It is a small, familiar restaurant that features a devoted customer service and a wide-ranging menu with wines and beers.We suggest that you book in advance so as to avoid being put on long waiting lists. miamismith.com

  This is my favorite Japanese restaurant and I frequently dine here when I’m in the mood for soup, noodles or sushi. The restaurant is modern and thoughtfully designed with an inviting and warm yet bright and vibrant decora. The restaurant is always full but even on a Saturday at 8PM, for a party of six, the wait has always been about 15 minutes or less. The service is great, the staff is knowledgable, attentive and friendly. They have a gorgeous sushi bar where you can have a great meal and be entertained by watching the sushi chefs. I’ve tried a full range of soups, salads, appetizers, sake, sushi, entrees and deserts. I can honestly say that everything I’ve tried is delicious, fresh, delicately prepared and flavorful. You cannot go wrong with anything you order. Even the plates, glasses, sake cups, bowls, spoons, etc. all tie into the designer based decora. They also have a very active to go service for those that prefer a superbly constructed eating experience at home. Definitely worth a visit.
