Flavorless. That is all I can say. My husband and I have dined at just about every Indian restaurant in S. Fla. this by far has been the worse one. The servers are slow, and don’t seem to care about service. We were on of the few tables who were not using Groupon to dine. Thus paying full price. This did not seem to improve service at all. I am very serious when I say hospital food has more seasoning and flavor than this horrible food. Items that usually come with meals standard at most Indian restaurants like rice were charged for here. Save your time and money and go to any other Indian restaurant before visiting this location.
Food was amazing, service ruined it. I have to admit, that if it weren’t for the service, I might have become a regular of Mint Leaf. The food was absolutely AMAZING. I have never had Indian food before and this was a great first experience. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the service was SUCH GARBAGE. The service is what ensured I would never return.I had a groupon for two, and I will admit, it was a full house that night… But we didn’t even know who our server was, 3 different people came and helped us/took our order. One server took away our silverware after the appetizer, so when our entrees came out, we had nothing to eat it with. The server who brought the entrees to us promised he would be back with silverware but after staring at our food for FIVE minutes with nothing to eat it with, I had to get up and find someone to bring us silverware. Ridiculous. When they brought our check, instead of using the groupon they charged us, and we had to remind the server we brought a groupon. After waiting another 10 minutes for the server to take our money, I had to get up AGAIN and go pay so we could leave. BECAUSE they know they had such lousy service, we paid 3.25 in taxes and an 18% Gratuity. WOW. 18% Gratuity for TWO people was AUTOMATICALLY included in the bill. THANKS but we’ll never come back again.
Slow service, argumentative staff & decent food. Sevice is always slow and I was blamed for a problem with my bill, even though I followed their directions exactly, made reservation and explained the promotion when I made the resume exactly as requested online. When I raised the situation to the server, not pushing back on the bill he continued to blame me for not telling him when I sat down about the promotion. As if I am a mind reader and should have known I needed to take the additional step. Not a great customer service experience and I am a very easy going customer generally. Food is pricey but for Indian in Miami it is one of the better choices.
I would give this restaurant 0 stars and possible have it closed down cause the flavors are insulting to Indian cuisine. I don’t know if I was ended up going on an off night but I had to wait 20 min to be served a menu and wait 30 min for the check. When it came to the food I received a lamb dish that just tastes of tomato paste and a spinach dish that had hints of a metallic taste. I saw that they had lemon rice and I was very excited to have it, but to my dismay it was flavorless. Also on top of that the waiters forgot orders and had the worst attitude in the world. To end my night .. I spent it in pain because the food gave me the worst heart burn in the world. So please do not go to this place !!
Skip it! It might have been great a fee years back but it SOOOO is not now. Service was horrendous; slow, inattentive, clueless. The food arrived an hour after being ordered and half had to be sent back. Tandoori chicken was barely warm, the marinade essentially raw – wet and pasty. I’ve never had such flavorless ‘Biryani’ in my life (and I’ve had many) and it lacked any raisins, almonds; it was just overcooked shrimp with yellow rice. Overall a highly disappointing meal!
Good, but not great.. Recently visited for the first time and it was a nice experience overall. Food was good, but not great when compared to other Indian restaurants we’ve tried. The waiter seemed to be fairly new at his job, but tried his best to describe the dishes and made some recommendations.
I really enjoyed eating there. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. Most dishes don’t come with rice so you have to remember to order if you want it. Also, to those who say its overpriced that’s just life in this part of coral gables.
