The mojhitos are award winning and they deserve that. They are special in way were you can have many without feeling it. Very smooth and delicious. The food is amazing. The bells of all these spices form a unique aroma. The chicken is just succulent. The salmon is great taste and beautifully cooked. The dessert was special and perfect to end the feast,especially the small mango bits it’s served with.
Good food, HORRIBLE service. I booked in advance what I was told would be a semi private area (it was not) of the restaurant for a 30 person rehearsal dinner on Oct 23rd. Because of the large group we all ordered from a pre-set menu yet much to my dismay the service was utterly horrendous. For anyone looking to book a group dinner please save yourself the stress and look elsewhere. For the night before my wedding day this was not the stress I needed of repeatedly having to find the hostess to inquire as to the extended delay. We waited nearly an hour just for the appetizer! I had to track down a waiter to find out why my husband to be was still waiting for someone to bring him the drink he ordered after 30 minutes! Once the food finally arrived it was delicious. This is the only reason I still give the restaurant 2 stars. What was most appalling was that the hostess, the catering manager and staff repeatedly acknowledged and apologized for the delay but with no explanation or accommodation. I’m not sure what the standard is in Coral Gables for supposedly upscale restaurants, but in NYC where I live, reputable restaurants at least offer some token of good will such as an adjustment to your bill, a complimentary bottle or some gesture as an accommodation for their admitted shortcoming, especially if they are aware that it is such a special occasion. I suppose because the restaurant here already had my credit card information, as needed to hold the reservation, they felt no need to right their wrong, and I was in no position to make an issue of it at that moment with my guests present. What should have been a great festive evening was everything but that due to the service at Ortanique.
