The name Sakura is used by many restaurants in Miami. This Sakura is located in South Miami, right in front of the US1. Sakura offers the best roll that we have tried in Miami (Moose Roll), their decoration is traditional and the Sushi master (chef) always receives you with the greeting moshi moshi. The rolls are well-sized and even though the ambiance isnt the coolest in Miami, the food knocks away everything else. What we liked the most: Moose Roll miamismith.com
Best Casual Sushi. I’ve been coming to Sakura for years and the food is always great. The fish is extremely fresh and they have some great rolls (you can also create your own roll). The Moose Roll and the UM Roll are really popular. It’s pricey for being a casual sushi place but the portions are a good size. The service is good and the chef is really nice.
Sakura is the bomb!! Chefs are great, sushi is fresh, menu is huge and the atmosphere is perfect! We go there every chance we can! It’s expensive but totally worth it! At the end the older sushi chef always makes a really cool presentation out of fresh orange slices. I highly, highly recommend this place.
Sakura Stinks. A glutton for punishment, I tried Sakura three times – each experience was awful. (I wanted to like this place since it’s close to my office) Sakura stinks – literally. I get that it’s a sushi restaurant, but when the fish stench is overwhelming, it’s a big red flag as to quality . Fresh, raw fish typically has very little odor. Not so fresh raw fish, well, stinks. Every time I have gone, the fish has been passable, but not great. Sakura’s tuna is a dull pinkish color and has a funky after taste – far from the beautiful reddish color of fresh tuna. Salmon was also a little brownish – definitely lacked the vibrance and buttery flavor of fresh salmon.Stick with their cooked rolls – eel, shrimp tempura, etc. Definitely pass on the sashimi.
Sushi is great, Service is not… The Sushi is awesome, and the infamous moooseroll is extremely tasty. The only issue is the service is a little off, and the wait for the food, and things like water and such were slow, but in the end worth it.
Expensive but the moose roll is the bomb and great quality tuna.
Sushi chef was eating with his hands and making sushi at the same time. Disgusting!
