A Gem to be Discovered. Dined with another couple on 11/7/2013. We were almost put off by other reviews, but so glad we tried Medellin for ourselves. Very nice ambiance: softened lights, intimate without noise, clean, and a stylish bar design. Empanadas were great. Crispy exterior, delicious on the inside. And I could not get enough of the homemade Picante Sauce! Portion sizes were more than generous. The Bistec de Palomilla was so large that it had to be laid over much of the Rice & Bean combo. Same was true with my spouse’s breaded chicken. BTW – she loved the sweet plantains. The meal was topped off with a fantastic Tres Leches and delicious espresso. Definitely on my list going forward. Highly Recommend.
Good food, good service. Definite good experience!. Was at first hesitant to try this place unknown to us to meet friends, but we all agreed we had a great evening! Server was very attentive and friendly. Ordered the empanadas as a starter, crisp on the outside and soft inside, very good. Each entree was well proportioned and tasty. Had the creme brulle (leche???) for desert, which ended an excellent meal and evening. We are already planning when we will meet again at this Medellin’s.
The portions got smaller and the quality got worse
Expected better. Service was good but the food was a little bland. And the portion was too small, even for lunch.
Excellent food. Authentic Colombian food, staff very friendly, clean, great ambince and music. the food fantastic. You should try the Arepa with Chorizo, yummy. Our favorite is the patacon with calentao on top (flat crispy plantain with beans, rice, chicharon, hogao and guacamole).Very affordable, I had a great lunch with my husband for $36 dollars. We have to come back.
Not fresh!. We ordered Colombian ground beef empanadas as a starter. The meat did not have any spices and the dough that was used for the empanadas was not corn based, it was flour. This is not typical of Colombian fare. I ordered a Plato Paisa which came with guacamole, which is also not typically used in Colombian food. The beans had no flavor and the meat tasted like it had been defrosted recently. My wife ordered a Fish Sancocho that looked like green slop with boiled frozen tilapia fish. The soup had a gelatinous consistency and no flavor. We did not enjoy anything we ordered and nothing tasted fresh. The only welcoming attribute of the restaurant was the staff, but it was not enough to encourage us to come back.
Excellent !!!!. The best Colombian food in Coral Springs. Very nice place, excellent service and very good food. If you Go thereit will be part or your favorites restaurants in town.
